The Australian College of Applied Education (ACAE) in Perth is one of Australia’s leading Registered Training Organisations with students from 51 international countries represented in the student body. ACAE offers an extensive range of Vocational Education and Training courses from Certificates to Diplomas. The Australian School of Management (ASM) is a sister entity of ACAE and is an approved Higher Education Provider offering accredited Bachelor Degree courses.

ACAE is currently seeking a skilled, dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join its Information Technology department on a fulltime basis. This is a mission-critical role within the organisation, with the successful candidate being responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of ACAE’s complex and tightly integrated FileMaker database and Moodle learning management system.

Your duties will include:

• Development and maintenance of FileMaker database and Moodle learning management system
• Linux systems administration
• Assist with Windows systems & network administration
• Provision of general IT support to staff & students
• Participate in IT project work including implementation of new hardware & software, social media, mobile app development and smart technology

 Essential Criteria:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent commercial experience
• strong PHP programming skills
• strong understanding of databases and SQL
• strong Linux administration  & IP networking skills
• knowledge of XHTML Strict 1.0 and CSS
• knowledge of Javascript and AJAX
• knowledge of Windows server & desktop environments
• minimum 2 years experience working in a development environment
• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to "think outside the square"
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong work ethic, highly organised and able work thru deadlines
• Be able to liaise with staff and clients of varying expertise and seniority
• Capacity to acquire new skill quickly and work with minimal supervision
• Enjoy communicating with people with patience, energy and respect
• Proven ability to work in a team environment and on an individual basis.
• Must know how to appreciation of the bigger business picture, not just its IT requirements.
