The Wine & Spirit Education Trust is the foremost international awarding body in the field of wines and spirits.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for providing first and second line technical support for the school’s virtual learning environment, as well as assisting in the technical development and day to day running of the WSET School’s online learning technology and e-learning provisions.
It is essential that applicants can demonstrate a thorough expertise in common IT applications, particularly the major web browsers and online social networking tools (such as forums and wikis), as well as web development skills including a sound working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Experience working with virtual learning environments (particularly Moodle) and helpdesk ticketing systems (particularly OTRS) would also be beneficial, although training can be provided. Knowledge of other web technologies including SCORM, PHP and SOAP would also be helpful, although not essential.
The role will require hands on development of database queries, so familiarity with relational databases is desirable and any knowledge of MS Access, SQL, ODBC connections and VBA would be helpful.
This is a customer facing role, so excellent interpersonal skills are required. The successful candidate will be pro-active and adaptable with rigorous attention to detail and the ability to multi-task, working alone and as part of a team.
Experience with any of the following would also be helpful although not essential: Adobe Software (Photoshop, Audition, Acrobat, Premier Pro, Captivate, etc), SAP Business One, video and chroma key equipment.
