Responsible for University-wide administration, coordination and promotion of distance learning and instructional technology system including end-to-end administration and user support of Clarkson’s learning management, lecture capture and parallel computing cluster environments.

Additionally, individual has responsibilities for implementing a plan to promote and grow Clarkson University’s Schools of Engineering and Arts & Sciences Distance Education Programs as determined by the Provost, Deans and CIO. This includes working with appropriate offices and individuals both inside and outside the University to ensure that policies and procedures related to student services, faculty support, program delivery and program assessment are well designed and effectively implemented. These activities, when appropriate, will be done in cooperation with existing Distance Education Programs offered by the School of Business.

Installation, administration and maintenance of distance learning and instructional technology hardware infrastructure, operating systems and software.

Developing distance learning and instructional technology end-user documentation and training programs.

Performing research and providing recommendations for service improvements or expansions.

Continuing installation and/or development of feature enhancements, upgrades and service improvements.

Participating in a rotating on-call shift cycle to provide after-hours support for mission-critical systems.

Working with faculty and administrators to develop effective policies and processes as related to all aspects of Clarkson University’s Schools of Engineering and Arts & Sciences Distance Education Program, including coordination with related programs in the School of Business.

Managing the implementation of these policies and processes for the specified programs. Providing direct end-user support and training on related systems and technologies for specific programs.

Developing promotional material (print and web-based) for the specific Distance Education programs.

Conducting information sessions and webinars to promote the Distance Education programs.

Developing relationships with government and corporate participants in the Distance Education program.

Monitoring the program’s status, managing the program budge and reporting the results to University administrators.

Assisting with any necessary documentation/applications to gain new academic/degree program approvals.

Identifying and assisting with appropriate grant applications that would support the Distance Education program
