We are currently moving to Moodle 2 as our VLE but had a few issues with the antivirus integration, as described in my thread here: http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=177840. The issue for us is we cannot use it without this feature and would have to use some other VLE. I noticed on the issue tracker that this issue was created in 2009 so figured it's not high priority and so may not be fixed any time soon (http://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-19380). Therefore I’ve taken to applying a temporary fix myself, which for me is no walk in the park because I’ve never even used Moodle before, let alone looked through its code :P
Anyway, unfortunately I am not a professional developer and only have the time I am allocated for this at work. I’ve not had the chance to fully read all the documentation on the site or even to explore Moodle that much, so my code is purely meant as a tie-over until someone with actual skill and knowledge of Moodle’s code takes a look at it and makes a real patch. For this reason I have posted it here rather than submiting it as a proper patch. Allow me to reitereate: This is clearly just a temporary fix that I found helped me! If this comes in handy for anyone else that would be great. If anyone has any other suggestions on how to fully implement it I might be able to get some time to fix it correctly.
