Ok so I retired and stopped posting but I never actually stopped lurking... Re Hector's  Of course, we also need a group of people reviewing what is marked as spam.

When I retired there was a process in place for a team of ten HQ members around the world to moderate the forums including spam zapping. (I wrote a course for them to learn how to do it) As far as I can tell,  this is now working during the week. I was under the impression the cover would be 24/7 all the time, not weekdays only, but  now I am not sure.

I don't believe there are any more spammers than normal; I just think they are not being zapped in time.

If indeed the support team is a going to cover weekends once they are more experienced then - great! If not, then - whoever reads this - I am more than happy to zap weekend spam because, as you can see, spammers don't operate only on workdays just as the Moodle community doesn't post only on workdays. So...

Ça y est, je prends ma retraite demain soir, le 31. J'ai écrit un message en anglais: Happy New Year and Goodbye

Hello everyone ,

I’m retiring on the 31st of December, so I thought I’d post here now, wishing you happy holidays and a successful 2026.

Moodle has been my hobby since 2006 and my job - part time and then full time -  since 2011. I’ll probably take a few weeks break (call it "rehab" lol😀) before deciding whether to return as a regular community member or not.

When I first joined Moodle, I came in as “Documentation fairy” but when I had to fill in my tax return, I felt a little embarrassed, so on Martin’s suggestion I became "Community Educator" and kept that title for quite a few years. And in fact, educating the community for free is where my heart is. But I completely understand that we need money to be able to help people for free.

So as we narrow our focus, it’s good timing for me to retire. The Moodle of today is not the Moodle I joined - but then, neither are we the same people today that we were yesterday. Everything is impermanent, and understanding that is key to our peace.

I wish Moodle all the best. I hope Moodle smashes our rivals and becomes, not the world’s, but the Universe’s best LMS - while maintaining - or better - nurturing - the support and respect of the open source community that birthed it.

Goodbye (probably😉)
