Hi Richard,
Thank you so much for spending time on this. I'm doing the download now - will probably take a while on my not-so-fast broadband connection.
I'll let you know how I get on running the DVD on my Mac Lion.
Cheers,
Glenys

Hi everybody,
This discussion has been very useful to me - especially the fact that Mary tried Linux out on a Virtual Box. That doesn't seem the way to go. Saved me a lot of time.
I regret now giving away my PCs - I'll try and get another one cheap just to try out Linux.
I seem to have made a mistake trying to run Winows 7 in a Virtual Box on Mac Lion - all the problems Richard's just pointed out but particularly too slow to do any real work on.
Thanks everybody,
Glenys
Hi Eli,
I don't think you can do this with Questionnaire (it's a survey tool) but you can with Hot Potatoes if you insert a table in JCloze. Here are some examples :
Hot Potatoes is a native module in Moodle 1.9 but it has to be activated by the admin; in Moodle 2 it has to downloaded and installed as a plugin.
You'll get more information on the Hotpot module forum.

Hi Rosaluz,
You can make drag and drop matching exercises by using the drag and drop function all browsers possess. Look:
I just dragged and dropped the Moodle icon into this forum message. (Actually, I'm not a 100% sure that that kind of drag and drop works on all browsers but it does on Firefox. Inside a Hot Potatoes exercise drag and drop always works in my experience.)
Here's an example: Pronunciation of the -ed ending
Thanks to Martin Holmes who told me how to do this years ago.

Glenys
Hi Rosaluz,
Gordon has provided you with a neat solution but if you do want the original Find-It files I can send you them (it's OK with Michael Rottmeier - I've checked).
You might find them useful if you wanted to do some customisations.
Write to me privately - my email is in my profile.
Cheers,
Glenys
