Bonjour Daniel,

Yes, I'm ranting!

Glenys

Bonjour,

Moodle in English -> Hotpot (plugin) -> Scores not recorded correctly

by Glenys Hanson -
Hello Gordon,

I'm having problems with the scores not being recorded correctly and some other things too. I've uploaded some examples to your test site: http://bateson.kanazawa-gu.ac.jp/moodle/16/ms/course/view.php?id=3

  • Hot Potatoes Quiz (1) JClose modified by Find-It
I "did" the course by clicking on "Solution" and got a score of 50/100 instead of 0.
And this is what a student reports "I had done the exercise of the tonic accent - the general rule1 two times but the scores (80% and 90%) were not recorded after doing the general rule 2." When I try and look at what she did I see nothing just "No information about individual questions and responses was found." For other students, who did the exercise earlier, the scores appear normally with the details of scoring.
  • Hot Potatoes Quiz (2) This JQuiz doesn't work on your course with the .htm file but does work with the .jqz. This exo works normally on our site.
  • Hot Potatoes Quiz (3) This is a completely different problem that I've been meaning to bring to your attention for ages.
This Hot Potatoes Quiz (3) is not actually a HP exercise at all, it's an index page. These exercises are also online on a "normal" (i.e. not Moodle) site. They are all linked to an index file. Though I've chosen "Moodle navigation" when the end of a chain is reached this index file is generated as a HP exercise. I usually just delete it. I've also tried creating 2 sets of of the same exercises: one for Moodle with no links to an Index page, and one with links to the Index page for the other site. However, that gets confusing with updates.
This problem is also strange because when I've tried to incorporate non-HP files into the chain (with or without the Masher) I've had problems on Moodle. Is it because I've usually wanted to insert them at the beginning or in the middle of the chain, and this file is at the end?
I have the same exercises on a 1.8 site and the problems seem to be the same.

The exercises validate with W3C.

Cheers,
Glenys
