Hi Bobo,
I read that you are going to rework the SCORM module. I have been thinking about giving the SCORM module a new page layout to give the pages XHTML and Moodle 1.5 CSS integration. I want to offer my help - I am the New Media designer who works on the Moodle 1.5 CSS system and created the theme "orangewhite". You can be sure I know a lot about Moodle and CSS
Are you interested? I am.
Buon fine settimana!
@Jeffery, you wrote: I like the xxx-Nuke way of theming which breaks the sideblocks in such a way as to allow more detailed graphics which do not break when a window is resized.
Your proposal sounds great and fascinating. This approach makes advanced decoration of the blocks much easier.
But it will be reached by somehow triple the number of cells for each block - and this makes me fear about the load increase Moodle pages will produce.
And wouldn't those extra "border cells" make simple looking blocks much more difficult to design?
I don't see so much advantage to assist the proposal to change the way the sideblocks are built.
@David - How is your work on table less sideblocks going?
Hi David and all,
"At the moment you have to undo a lot of things before you can add your own styles e.g."
This is the reason why I used the very wise feature to turn off cascading for the theme "orangewhite".
The 1.5 CSS cascading approach opens a wide variety of possible uses of CSS files. You find all settings needed in config.php:
- you can specify the CSS files to use and the loading order
- you can switch off cascading of the standard theme's CSS files completely
- you can rely on any self defined "parent" theme - good for small changes
How to make some easy changes will be demonstrated and documented with some "child" themes of the standard theme like for example "standardwhite".
Hello Julia,
we are also very disappointed at its lack of functionality when it comes to publishing.
I am concerned about the presentation of the content.
fully customize the whole thing (ie. change the layout completely to suit your client's needs)
What do you want or do you need to do?
_ Do you have ready designed courses you want to offer in a appropriate designed platform?
_ Do you want to create learning material with Moodle?
_ Do you want to make the Moolde design look as your clients internet or intranet?
If you could please explain your needs, we could offer some proposals if or how you can get there.
Please keep in mind, that if you decide to take Moodle at day X and start to extensively change it, you will be cut off the very dynamically progression of Moodle.
