As I said in my earlier post, this is a bug in Moodle 1.9, which has been fixed in 2.0 and I see no other workaround than the one I posted.

Here are the full error messages output when I try to import a matching question into Flashcard module, with full debug mode ON:

PS.- I agree that this feature is not very useful. What would be useful would be a feature to import into Flashcard all of the correct matches of all of the match questions from one category.
