Hi Bertold

I downloded  your zip file and in the latest 1.4.2  version it says in the admin page that the version # is older than the previous one.   How can I change this?

It worked OK in an other test install I have with Moodle version "1.4.2 nearly"

What are moral values?   Many of you seem to say there are no absolute values.   But say instead what the majority decides is good.

What is good?

Do we as a majority simply decide was is good?

Does every individual have an individual right?

If, what the majority says goes for all, what about the right of the minority?

What if the majority decides that people over 65 are a burden to society and should be terminated?

What if we say that the mentally challenged have no useful purpose in life, shall we do away with them?

Who sets the boundary when and where?

There is no doubt that in the name of Christianity and of other religions terrible deeds have been done.  But many terrible deed have been done by non religious people.

I know that World War I    was the war to end all wars, but guess what, World War II.

That man is basically good is certainly hard to prove with the statistics in my lifetime.

So are some things good and others bad?

Yes John there are many isues to consider in an election. And I am certainly not in favor of having inocent bystanders killed. I believe Kerry would not have done a whole lot different in the war. HE even said at one time that he would send addtional troups.

But talking about killing the innocent what about this :

Australia:

Maj-Gen Jeffery, 67, said he was not criticising women who had to make a "terrible decision", but 100,000 abortions a year were too many for a country with Australia's population.

United States:

49% of pregnancies among American women are unintended; 1/2 of these are terminated by abortion.

In 2000, 1.31 million abortions took place, down from an estimated 1.36 million in 1996. From 1973 through 2000, more than 39 million legal abortions occurred.

Each year, 2 out of every 100 women aged 15-44 have an abortion; 48% of them have had at least one previous abortion and 61% have had a previous birth.

Each year, an estimated 46 million abortions occur worldwide. Of these, 20 million procedures are obtained illegally.

I know that many of you think that unborn children are not real children. We do not accept that and that gives many of us enough reason to vote or support a president who agrees with this.

There is enough scientific evidence to support this view.

Unwanted children is just an excuse. It is presenly almost impossible in Canada to adopt a child, as everyone who has tried knows and very costly. Canada needs imigration in order to support a economy.

Those christians, who definetly tipped the scale in favour of Bush did not do this because of the war nor because of the economy but to save as many lives as possible.

An interesting statement :

"But obviously fundamentalists have more difficulties to "learn from history" and create new knewlodge, understanding and approaches. "

I think we are learning from history. We left our engagement of world to others and concentrated on the church and our spiritual life. This was not the case in the early church.

The reason that Bush was elected is because we are rethinking the isues.

I rather have George Bush who was elected, because Christians finaly are started to wake up to the fact that you can not segregate your life between spiritality and your other isues of life.
