I have been noticing for a while in my server stats that I have been getting hits from links allegedly on Web sites that have nothing to do with my site and end with a pound sign, e.g.:
http://www.xenical-worldwide.us/#
http://www.jkcreditcard.com/#
http://www.the-jackpot-857.us/#
http://www.xequityhomeloan.com/#
All these sites seem to be of dubious quality and the whole thing is very suspicious. Does anyone know what this means or whether it is any harm to me in Google to have some sort of links pointing from such dubious sites.

They're wasting their time because Moodle doesn't make its referer logs public by default (it's possible, but unlikely, that your hosting company does, though).
