The Learning Analytics Enriched Rubric (LA e-Rubric) is an advanced grading method used for criteria-based assessment. As a rubric, it consists of a set of criteria. For each criterion, several descriptive levels are provided. A numerical grade is assigned to each of these levels.

An enriched rubric contains some criteria and related grading levels that are associated to data from the analysis of learners’ interaction and learning behavior in a Moodle course, such as number of post messages, times of accessing learning material, assignments grades and so on.

Using learning analytics from log data that concern collaborative interactions, past grading performance and inquiries of course resources, the LA e-Rubric can automatically calculate the score of the various levels per criterion. The total rubric score is calculated as a sum of the scores per each criterion.

Dear John: You right! In this version the plugin works fine, however I'm trying to use it in verison 3.1 moodle, but does not work. Not even the assessment rubric appears. Do you plan to upgrade to version 3.1? It would be very helpful for me.

    Hello again Guillermo, smile

I just checked the plugin on the last version (Moodle 3.1.2+) and there are significant changes in the system core grading procedure. thoughtful

I will look these up as soon as I can and I will try to make the necessary changes for a new version of this plugin. wink

I can't tell you yet when it would be ready.... mixed Meanwhile use the previous version of Moodle, if you can...

Thanks John. I will apply your suggestion. Although it will be great to have the updated version of your great plugin. Unfortunately my institution always updates the LMS to its latest version.

Thanks for your comments and I will be pending.

We are planning to upgrade our Moodle site from 3.8.x to 3.10.x and this plugin is not listed on the Moodle site as supporting version 3.10, but we have it installed in our 3.8.x site. Does anyone know if 3.10 will be supported? Or might we have to disable this plugin? Would like to know before beginning our upgrade process. Thanks!

    Hello Perry, smile

I haven't made any official tests for LAeR in a Moodle 3.10 version yet, so I can't tell you 100% that it is safe. I believe it works, but I can't give you an official "OK do it".

You could do it anyway, if it doesn't work, just disable it and uninstall it. It doesn't interact with other Moodle plugins or other moodle capabilities wink

I you do it, let me know how i went... smile
