by Marcus Green.

Hi Clare, I have no reason to believe it will not work with 3.9, and would be surprised it if didn't. However I cannot recall specifically installing/testing it with 3.9 so far. But if you can wait a day or so I will install and test it and let you know.
You can email me directly at marcusgreen at mailbox.org as I am always interested in how people use it and what issues/wants you might have.

Will it work on 3.9 or are there plans to release a version for 3.9?

Any plan for it to be officially released for 3.8 before the summer? Or anyone been able to test it on 3.8 as is?

by Chris Canning.

Hi Marcus, love the plug in and it 'nearly' meets all of my BTEC needs. The issue I've got is that the BTEC scale ((refer(1), pass(2), merit(3), distinction (4)), that the BTEC marking rubric relies on doesn't scale with the credit awarded with these grades in the BTEC RQF framework.

I want to get to the point where lecturers teaching on the new RQF BTECs can:
Mark using the BTEC marking plugin > then the grade awarded can be converted into the correct credit score (dependent on GLH) > and finally the credit can be added together from the Moodle activities to give the correct total credit score & grade within the gradebook.

I have managed to figure everything out except for the first step of utilising this with your plugin for rubric grading. The issue is I need to use a different scale to make the aggregation calculations work across Level 3 qualifications. The custom scale I've created is: Refer(1), , Near Pass(3), Pass(4), ,Merit(6), , ,Distinction (9).

With this scale it makes it easy to use the custom calculations in the gradebook to award the correct amount of credits for each activity.

Any idea how you can get your plugin working with a differnt scale?

Cheers

by Christoph Ruda.

@Marcus - Brilliant plugin. Our teachers love it. Is there perhaps a way that the level fields could be made less restrictive (the string in there has to start with P, M or D) since the unit/criteria references in the various BTEC courses include the learning aim letter (e.g. B.1P3)?

by Marcus Green.

I can think of a few ways around this, however they involve either editing code (i.e. removing that check), or database updates. There is a way of changing a single value in the sourcecode and uninstalling and re-installing the plugin (an undocumented thing). I am happy to talk you through the options etc, you can contact me directly at marcusavgreen at gmail.com

by Sue Moss.

I already had a BTEC scale create when I first installed this plugin, so it didn't create a BTEC scale. This has never been a problem until now but with your new check built in to determine whether it is using the correct scale or not, it comes back with the warning that its not using the correct scale - its using our BTEC scale not yours. I've renamed our scale but I can't uninstall and therefore reinstall the plugin to get it to create your BTEC scale. Any help would be much appreciated as this a really widely used on our site. Many thanks.
