Hi everyone,

Our work on improving the messaging experience in Moodle continues, and to ensure we include the perspectives and needs of our community, we’re asking community members to complete a short survey, linked below.

This survey aims to gather information about the messaging tools currently being used, and the appetite of organisations to integrate 3rd party messaging tools with Moodle.

The results will help us understand the messaging landscape and trends in the way organisations use messaging as part of their teaching and learning, allowing us to better support messaging in Moodle LMS

What's up people

I have two moodle version 3.11 installed on different servers, one on Bluehost and the other on AWS.

Without doing anything on the server side and having configured everything the same from the moodle admin, in the one I have installed in Bluehost the email output works perfectly and in the AWS one it does not work.

Do you know what could be due?

We need your help! Research recruitment for 4.0 Activity cards redesign

Hi all,

I’m Sabina Abellan, a UX Designer at Moodle. Our team is working on a redesign of 4.0 activity cards and icons in order to improve the current experience, and we need your help!

We’ll be conducting a round of usability testing sessions to understand how well our design proposal meets user needs.

We’re looking to speak to 5-10 teachers and/or content creators between Tuesday 14th and Friday 28th of March. The sessions will be 60 minutes, and will consist of some general tasks and questions, and exploration of the design prototype.

Feedback from our Community members and active users would be extremely valuable to this redesign, so we hope we can count on your participation.

Hi Matthias,

This is a very strange request, but I think if you use a combination of items you can solve your problems.

Manual enrollments to control enrollments.
Sub courses plugin to create a "structured enrolment course".
Use restrict access to just force them to do the one after the other.

If I understood the request incorrectly, my apologies.

Show Topics/Activities based on used enrolment method

We use Moolde for managing language learning courses. We have a Problem with students that enrol into multiple courses, even those which are not for their level of language knowledge. To mitigate this problem we plan to create an enrolment course with multiple self enrolment methods. One method for each available course. Then the user will be manually enrolled into the real course based on the enrolment method they used.

This solves the multiple enrolments issue. The next issue, why I'm asking this question is: Is it possible to show Topics/Activities based on the enrolment method they used?

All users have to be perform a language test to determine their level, except for people that enrolled via the lowest level method. So the people that have to perform the test should see specific informations for them, while the others should see different information.

It seems this is not possible with base moodle. It could work via groups, but groups are not automatically created via the used enrolment. I also looked for plugins, but couldn't find any.

Does somebody have an idea how this could be solved?
