one of my clients request was a dashboard block that would show attendance statistics to the student for his diffren sessions

I have built it and here is how it looks
each Attendance instance would show as a card

Typically when this fails when a student is connected to an internal Wifi network or through a web proxy/vpn and those users all show up as coming from the same IP address to Moodle - sometimes there is nothing you can do about this because the end-users IP address is completely masked by your internal network before they get to your moodle server.

Moodle has some settings under admin > server > http > reverse proxy that allow you to control this, but you may need to talk with whoever manages your network infrastructure to help set this in a way that allows you to view the end-users IP address correctly.

Hello,

I've done my first test in a class of 20 students. 17 of them managed to flash the QR code and record their attendance, but 3 of them got the following message:

"Auto-marking has been disabled for a session because this device seems to have been used to record the attendance of another student".

Is this related to the "Prevent students sharing IP address" option? If so, I don't understand why it's happening, as the students did not cheat and user their own phone to record their attendance only.

If you have any idea of what the issue may be, I'd be very grateful if you could tell me how to solve this.

The rotation interval and expiry can both be changed

by default the qr code is rotated every 15 seconds, but it has an extra 2 seconds before it expires.

you might want to increase the rotation interval to 30 seconds and set the rotation expiry margin to 30 seconds (meaning each code is valid for 1 min.)

see the settings under admin > plugins > attendance "Rotate QR code/password interval" and "Rotate QR code/password expiry margin"

Set Status for "Unselected" not working

That's correct, there is no current way to "unselect" or remove a status within the list once it has been set - this has been suggested as an enhancement in the past but it's not been something anyone has expressed an interest in fixing at this stage:

yeah, while I'm mostly happy to donate my time in a public forum so that lots of people can benefit, (including any AI tools indexing the content!!!). I get zero royalties/income from the wide range of people using any of the plugins I support and maintain. How I pay my bills (and feed my family) is by charging for my time to provide private/professional Moodle services/consulting/development etc.

Moodle's webservices are "self-documenting" - this means you have to have the plugin installed before it will show in the list.. there should be a section that looks like the following;

I've managed to get the API documentation, although it wasn't easy to get this large 2500-page long file. However, I didn't find anything on Attendance in it. Even when downloaded in PDF, there is no search bar (Ctrl + F) to find anything in it. Would you have the part on Attendance that I can't find?
