由“AL Rachels”.

Hi Joel,
Been retired from teaching 11 years so have not really kept up with how the lesson can be set up, but have you considered using the Content Pages plugin? (I currently maintain it and I am actively seeking suggestions for improvements.) It is similar to the lesson plugin but also has some presentation type look capability to it. The biggest advantage, is that I recently added code so it uses the Moodle Question Engine which means it can use any of the Moodle Question Types you have installed in your Moodle site so you are not limited to the Lesson's built in few that are available. You can actually add questions directly to a content page and students can be allowed to ask questions and make comments on each content page.

由“Joel C. Miller”.

I present much of the material in my subject in lessons. I want to require that students have done a lesson before they open the corresponding quiz.

I previously selected the option that they had to spend at least N minutes on the lesson (where N depends on the time it would take to go through the material). However, when I did that, students who previously completed a lesson and later returned to review the lesson would suddenly be counted as not completing the lesson.

Currently my setting is that they have to get to the end of the lesson, but some students simply skip to the end without engaging in the content (e.g., 40 minutes of videos completed in 1 minute).

Is there a clean way to fix this?

(My current plan is to produce a copy of each lesson, and the original will disappear once they have completed it. Then the copy will appear so that they can review the material. However, this will take a fair amount of fiddling, and it seems likely to result in mistakes when the material is editted.)

由“AL Rachels”.

Harvey has been in contact and has been trying things out on my development site. For everyone in case you do not know about it yet, I just released a new version of Content Pages that allows teachers to use any type of question installed in their Moodle Question Bank. Makes Content Pages almost like what everyone wishes that the Lesson plugin could do. I do have further plans along those lines, just not enough hours in the day where my dry eye problems will let me work on it.

由“Dominique Bauer”.

AL suggested earlier that you consider using the Embed Question Filter. It can be an excellent option if you are comfortable with the limitation that question grades will not appear in the students’ gradebook. The filter is easy to install and use, works very well, and allows you to embed questions almost anywhere, including in lessons. Another small gem of Moodle: Embed questions.

由“Harvey Hingley”.

Hi There,

Please could I have access to test this out (preferably as a teacher). In my PhD project I’m looking to provide a (basic) adaptive format to a bunch of supplementary STACK questions in an undergraduate module, and this plug in looks like it could be great for this.

Getting to play around with this first would be hugely beneficial, so access to this would be appreciated. Please let me know the best way of doing this!
