MediaWiki is a free software open source wiki package written in PHP, originally for use on Wikipedia. It is now also used by several other projects of the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation and by many other wikis, including mediawiki.org, the home of MediaWiki.

You can use this moodle repository to allow searching, linking and importing media from these wikis.

note: keep the 'commons url' setting blank if you don't know or are not sure. This is a workaround for sites like wikipedia which have another (shared) url to access resources.

Many thanks for sharing this plugin with the Moodle community. As I was installing the plugin, I received the following errors:

Notice: Constant WIKIMEDIA_THUMBS_PER_PAGE already defined in /var/www/m25/repository/mediawiki/mediawiki.php on line 25

Notice: Constant WIKIMEDIA_FILE_NS already defined in /var/www/m25/repository/mediawiki/mediawiki.php on line 26

Notice: Constant WIKIMEDIA_IMAGE_SIDE_LENGTH already defined in /var/www/m25/repository/mediawiki/mediawiki.php on line 27

Notice: Constant WIKIMEDIA_THUMB_SIZE already defined in /var/www/m25/repository/mediawiki/mediawiki.php on line 28

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class wikimedia in /var/www/m25/repository/mediawiki/mediawiki.php on line 30

Might we get those fixed up before approving.

Also, I like to encourage folks to provide the source, documentation, and issues URLs to help folks collaborate with you in maintaining the plugin. For now, I am going to mark this as needing more work. Please do not hesitate to let me know if there is anything I can do to be supportive of your efforts. Peace - Anthony

Aparup - Thanks for fixing things up. The repository installs fine and works well. If you get a chance it would be good to provide some documentation. I'm going to go ahead and approve this. Peace - Anthony
