This combines Ulteo Open Virtual Desktop with BigBlueButton and is perfect for live online cooperation in real time.

To use this module:

1) Install OpenDesktop module

2) Setup Ulteo Open Virtual Desktop Server (local users) 2.5 (Only 2.5 does work with this module!)

3) Setup a BigBlueButton Server (on a separate machine)

3) In the same course:

  • Add an "OpenDesktop" activity
  • Add a "BigBlueButton" activity

    Hi Chris,

    this plugin was intended to provide an easy way to let teachers and students work simultaneously in the same destop by just clicking on the Moodle activity. But OpenVirtualDesktop removed the desktop-sharing feature in recent versions. So the intent of my plugin to provide fast and easy access to a co-working desktop environment was not achievable any more.
    I thought, that maybe with installing some desktop-sharing software on the OVD clients I could create a workaround. But I did not go further due to lack of time. If you have an idea how to get desktop-sharing back in OVD, I would update the plugin immediately. Also an integration with BBB would be a great thing wink.

    Hi Mat,

    I just read this: https://www.ulteo.com/home/en/products/ovd/compare and it seems the desktop sharing might be back, but I am not sure what exactly this feature description means
    "Linux server shared desktop"

    Do you have any information about that feature? It is a long time, that I did not look at the OVD features, so maybe I should give it another try.
