    Hi,
I was translating the local_fm plugin into mexican spanish and I found some English strings that looked odd to me:

2.3 [gradebooklinktitle,local_fm] "Click to view $a for this student"
    and
    2.3 [templateconfigure,local_fm] "Configure email template for $a"

I think that maybe $a should be [$a} (as is in the other three cases) BUT I AM NOT A PROGRAMMER, I am only a translator. Would you be so kind as to check if the current strings are OK without the curly brackets, or if they are better with them, will you put them?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, the $a notation indicates variable substitution, and should be surrounded by curly brackets like {$a}. Considering that, I wondered why the lack of curly brackets in some cases did not cause problems with the plug-in. It now appears that those strings lacking the curly brackets are never actually used. I'd say treat the $a just like {$a}, that is no translation needed. I'll file a bug on our end, and if a little more checking confirms that the incorrectly formatted strings are never used, we'll remove them soon.
