Course Overview Plus has not been updated to reflect changes to the core course overview in Moodle 2.4 onwards. Course Overview Campus is an enhanced version of this plugin that is supported for the latest version of Moodle and is available at https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=block_course_overview_campus

Example course filters (by the year the course starts in, the lowest level category the course it is and by users holding the teacher role) are now provided. These can be used as templates, feel free to get in touch if more help is needed.

In English, German and French.

Is there a reason why the normal "course overview" block will show up a forum overview in a course but "course overview plus" will not. I have looked through the code but haven't found anything.

This may be the reason for my previous post. It comes up within the course overview plus block when debugging is enabled. Is anyone able to help me get to the bottom of this one?

Hi Geoff, sorry I haven't got back to you sooner. Your last post was very helpful - I wasn't setting lastaccess information so the forum didn't know when to look for new posts from. I've fixed the issue in the latest version.

A few points, the filter doesnt adjust width appropriately if you have a 3 column theme.

Not sure the category filter is working as it's using the cat name and not the cat id

There was an issue with the filter headings and drop downs lining up properly, which should be fixed now. I've tested on a three column theme and it seems OK, although the filter adjusts to the size of the values in the drop downs so can grow too big for the space.

The category filter uses category name because that's what's most useful for my institution - faculties are the lowest level of category with years above that - so by comparing names we get a faculty filter. The filters are just examples, designed to be customised for your needs.

@Andrew thanks for the reply, shortened some cat names and now it fits, just a theme issue to figure out now, with Ardvark Post-it, the show/hide icons are on the left side not the right.

I have installed the course overview plus block and I like it.
However, I have noticed that not all courses are displayed regardless of the academic year, the visibility of the course and the role. Only 21 courses can I see. The other recent courses in the alphabet are not displayed. Why is this so? Is it a bug? The reason the code? In which file where I had to change something?
Even now, many thanks for your help

Hi Michael. The block uses the same course limit setting as the normal course overview block, although there may be less courses actually displayed because they are hidden or don't meet the filter. This is a global setting ($CFG->mycoursesperpage) with a default of 21but it should really be a block setting so I'll get onto that today and release a new version that should allow you to easily increase the limit.

OK, today's release allows the course limit to be increased (or decreased) within the normal block configuration. It also includes Andrew Nicols's fix for MDL-34783 which is important for Moodle 2.3 performance, so thanks very much Andrew!

    Hi Andrew,

I just installed the new version and tested. It works perfectly with the new setting of the maximum number of courses.
Thank you very much for your work.

    Hello,

Is it possible to show a link to the activities in a course? I have an activity inside the course and would like to display a link to it from the "MyMoodle" page using the course overview plus block. Somethink exactly like the link under "MyCourses" in the navigation.

    Regards,

    Pat

    Hey Andrew

Strange request but any chance you could update this block to be responsive? With the introduction of bootstrap it is one of the only blogs which doesn't flow with the site.

    Thanks
