Archaius is a moodle theme with several options to customize your Moodle

to all people that helped me with my master project, I already delivered it, so, I am going to have time to write code instead of my thesis. I hope I can fix all issues and implement all improvements soon and release an amazing version. .

Do you want to help me to improve this theme?

What is new

Thanks to the interview David Mudrák and Tim Hunt gave me a hint to be able to store user preferences to save the state of lateral blocks. Because of that, if you hide the lateral blocks, them will remain hidden the next time you go back to that specific page.

Thanks a lot to Barbara Ramiro and David for their suggestions, I will try to improve everything you said.

Archaius is a moodle theme with several options to customize your Moodle:

  • Upload logo.
  • Upload mobile logo.
  • Footnote.
  • Background color.
  • Header and footer color.
  • Tabs color (to be used with blocks titles).
  • Color for the current block tab (block titles).
  • Color of the current item in custom menu.
  • Activation of the collapsible topics effect.
  • Activation of the hide/show blocks effect.
  • Activation frontpage slideshow.
  • Custom CSS.
  • Custom Javascript in footer.
  • Color of custom menu.
  • Set timeout of the slider.
  • Set height of the front page slider (pixels).

Since Archaius Tigris I have done huge changes in my theme. I have tested the upgrade process several times  and everything goes smoothly, but you never know. You should test the upgrade process in your staging server first.

For your safety, don't try to be a kamikaze, you should do things in the right way.

If you want to take a look of what is new I recommend you read the readme file.

Best regards,

    Hi Alexandre,

    Thanks you.

I suppose you are talking about the same problem some people have pointed out:

Just add this to your custom CSS:

    #page-content #region-main .forumpost div.header{display:block;}

If your problem is different let me know,

Great theme indeed, I'm loving the support that is being provide for it.

My question is: I don't require a custom menu, but when I go to the mobile version it has the custom menu expansion button visible. Is there a way to remove it?

    Hi Daniel,

I need one more disappear act.

On the homepage, above "My Courses" there in a blank bar. If it helps, when I 'inspect element' on Chrome and copy the CSS path it's:

Thanks for your time Daniel, much appreciated.

Is there a way too make the courses expandable on default? I know it goes against the essence of the theme. Thanks!

I think your question is great, and I was thinking in that in january but I haven't had enough time to do everything I want. For the moment you can achieve what you want doing what I explain in this super short post:

If you have any problem, let me know.

Is it possible to get the breadcrumb to start from home rather than the dashboard?

Hi Daniel, we love the Archaius theme and are planning on using it at our school this fall. We are having one minor issue, however, that I was hoping you could help us out with.

We are using the 2.8.6 version of Moodle with an email block called Quickmail. On the Quickmail screen, the toolbar for the email message and the area to upload an attachment to the email do no appear. In other themes - for example Clean - they do appear.

I believe the problem is in /layout/general.php but I can't seem to figure out the specific element within that code.

Could you point me in the right direction?

    Many thanks!
