Zoom is the web and app based video conferencing service (http://zoom.us). This plugin offers tight integration with Moodle, supporting meeting creation, synchronization, grading, and backup/restore.

Potential privacy issues

Meetings are joinable if URL is known. That is a limitation by Zoom. To have secure meetings, please set a password.

    Hi Rex, I cna't creat meetings (message: "You are using Zoom for the first time, so you must enable your Zoom account by logging in to with your login credentials..."). In a previous comment you explained that zoom and moodle users should have the same email. I checked and also changed registration's email for moodle.org. Also tried the different login types in the setting but the only thing I noticed is a different error ("Fatal error: Call to undefined method mod_zoom_mod_form::standard_intro_elements() in /home/campusiecah/www/mod/zoom/mod_form.php on line 75")... Thank you in advance for your help. The plugin looks realy great. Mad

    I keep getting this error message:

    Connection status: The Zoom API key and/or secret are invalid. Please ensure they are correct.
    But the API and secret are both valid.

    What do I do with these boxes?

    @Madrid, moodle.org has no relationship to what you are doing. The emails that need to match are the one for the user on your own Moodle instance and on your Zoom instance. Regarding the error for standard_intro_elements, that must mean you are using a Moodle version older than 3.1. The plugin is now compatible to 3.1 and above.

    @Doug, to check your API keys go to the settings for the Zoom plugin: Site administration > Plugins > Activity modules > Zoom meeting. You should get a message that says "Connection status: Connection working."

    "Zoom home page URL" is the URL of your Zoom instance that people can log into. For us we have Zoom setup so that if a user logs into our Zoom instance with their University Single Signon they get an account created for them. But it is not a required field, so you can leave that blank if you automatically create Zoom accounts for your users.

    "Zoom API url" leave this to the default value.

    Hi Rex, Thank you for this plugin, it is very helpful. When I set up the Zoom activity to require a grade and set the score to be out off 100 every attendee gets the score of 100 no matter what length of time they attended the webinar. I was wondering what Zoom data the plugin is using to generate the grade.

    Another quick one. Is it possible to disable the requirement for the user to enter an email address when they join a meeting from Moodle as the plugin seem to already know who they are.

    @James, the grading is very rudimentary. If a student clicks on the join link then they get the full points for the grade. We are looking to see if the Zoom API V2 offers more fine grained tracking of a user in the meeting so we can grant full scores if a student is in the zoom for X number of minutes.

    @Rex Thanks for your response. I was thinking you might be able to take number of minutes in the webinar and the total duration of the webinar and create a percentage and just report that to the LMS as the grade then we could set a passing grade for completion in the activity settings.

    I have setup the zoom plugin with moodle but it's not working properly. It stops on launching page & doesn't respond. I also have created an issue on github https://github.com/ucla/moodle-mod_zoom/issues/36

    @denis We haven't tested it yet. It might have some deprecation warnings. We are currently updating the plugin and should have a new version soon.

    Hi Rex.... We started using the Zoom plugin on our Moodle 3.4 site a couple weeks ago. Thanks to you and UCLA for developing and maintaining this. A question did come up from our support group about the "START MEETING" button. They noticed that clicking on the button takes you to Zoom in the same window, so you lose your place in Moodle. Having Zoom open in a new window would be preferable (perhaps this could be a configurable admin option). Maybe this is something that has been suggested before, and there's a reason it works the way it does now. But I thought I'd go ahead and ask about it.

    HI Rex. Thank you for maintaining this plugin. Would there be any configuration that allows the plugin only to launch a Zoom meeting if you logged in to your Moodle site, rather than the user trying to go directly to the Zoom webpage?
