Sets

This plugin is part of set Big Blue Button. Plugins from the set work the best when installed together.

This recordingsbn module works with the bigbluebuttonbn module to let you view and manage your BigBlueButton recordings within a course.

This module lets you give students access to the recordings, publish/unpublish recordings, and delete the recordings.

To use recordingsbn, install it alongside bigbluebuttonbn.

In short: the bigbluebuttonbn module lets you create BigBlueButton sessions from within your course, recordingsbn lets you view and manage the BigBlueButton recordings from within your course.

I'm able to run BBB from Moodle 2.4 and it says it records. These don't show up in recordsbn. I can hear the sound and the messages. I can;t see anything else, just the welcome screen. http://test-install.blindsidenetworks.com/playback/slides/playback.html?meetingId=7eebe11dd95baa9c3906a691a56b01ee17b6e7a0-1357143300932

    Thank a lot

Hi Vasilis, you are using the BigBlueButtonBN plugin with BigBlueButton 0.80, our current release, which records slides + audio + chat. If you don't upload any slides, you'll see the BigBlueButton logo and welcome screen. For more information, see: http://code.google.com/p/bigbluebutton/wiki/ReleaseNotes#Release_0.8:_Bailetti

Hi Fred, thank for your response. I was trying again, but... Aw you can hear I tried to Share my Desktop-> Fullscreen -> (I saw the message) Youa are sharing your Screen to record your teacher overview. I 'm running Windows 7 and my speed of connection is 100Mbps.
    This is the result: http://test-install.blindsidenetworks.com/playback/slides/playback.html?meetingId=32cc6588a19f45723379cdeb7fdfff391b851c72-1357491761249
    What's going wrong?
    Best Regards

Hi Vasilis, BigBlueButton 0.80 record and playback does not capture and playback the video, desktop sharing, or whiteboard. Obviously, we want to capture everything, but if we had tried to implement everything in 0.80, it still wouldn't be released smile. In 0.81-dev, which we are working on, we're adding the record and playback of video and whiteboard. The record and playback of desktop sharing will come in a future version.

    Hi Fred,

I was translating the module RecordingsBN in AMOS and I noticed what seems to be a typo in one of the English language strings:

2.4 [view_dependency_error,recordingsbn] "You must to have BigBlueButtonBN Activity Module installed"

"You must to have" should be "You must have the" (I think, but I am not a native English speaker).

Thanks in advance for your help and thanks for this nice plugin.

Would it be possible to tie each recording to its own resource in Moodle? This way the teacher could have a separate recording under each topic, instead of making the student scroll through a list?

My moodle installation has moodle version 1.9.5, and I installed the old version 2012032600 of bigbluebuttonbn for moodle 1.9 that cannot download any more.
We are migrating from moodle 1.9.5 installation to moodle 2.4, so we want to update the bigbluebuttonbn too, and the meetings.
When I try to update de module it's fail with this code:

Neither of the new modules bigbluebuttonbn nor recordingsbn version 1.0.9 for Moodle 1.9 can be updated from a previous version. The original version for Moodle 1.9 was totally different from the new one. The new one was build completely from the scratch based on the functionality and logic that the version 1.0.9 for Moodle 2.x has. Besides there is no support for migrating from 1.9 to 2.x.

So, your best bet is uninstall and install the newer version (1.0.9-b3) available for Moodle 2.4 in your new instance.

If you want to keep the meetings you had in your old Moodle you need to manually migrate the table.

Hi. I'm testing block version on latest moodle 2.4. As far i'm from Russia, i'm using unicode symbols.
Though datatablepaginator and makes a table pretty, it fully breaks table content.

    Table row without js:
    Activity: 123
    Description: Проверка записи
Date: Ср май 15, 2013 17:44:25 Северная Центр. Азия (зима)

Table row after datatablepaginator improve table:
    Activity: 123
    Description: Проверка записи
    Date: Invalid Date

You should find something more suitable taking into account unicode support and that fact, that date can be represented in thouthands different ways in different languages.
And it's quite better to use format from languagepack (view.php, line 204).

And thank you very much for your plugins

    Thanks for the feedback Vadim.

We are going to take a look, but I am afraid it is a problem with the YUI plugin we are using and not really with the RecordingsBN plugin itself.

What you can do for the moment is to use the default HTML table instead. You can do this uncommenting the line 254 in the view.php file and commenting 256 to 259.

I know it is not the best way to do it, but this will fix your problem for now.

And yes, it is better to use format. That is why you find the lines are still there. You can easily uncomment them as well. smile

I guess the plugins cannot work out of the box for everyone in the world, but we are still doing our best.

    Cheers,

I put in this tracker about a week ago: https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/CONTRIB-4401

I don't know if anyone is watching the recordingsbn queue in the Moodle Tracker.

    Thanks

    Yes I am Daniel.
Just kind of busy now with a huge pile of other tasks.

You don't need to duplicate posts, just keep an eye on the tracking system. If anything happens is going to be updated in there.

    Thanks for following-up,

    Hi,

Thanks for your work ! I just install BBB on a dedicated server. It's works fine, it's a pleasure. So I install BigBlueButtonBN with my moodle and it's ok too.

But this plug-in "Recording BN" doesn't work with my BBB. Nothing was recording.
But it's works fine with http://test-install.blindsidenetworks.com/bigbluebutton

Anyone have an idea what can I do to resolve this ?

    Best regards.

    Clément

    Hi Clement,
If the recordings work fine using test-install the problem is in your bigbluebutton server.

There are too many variables that might be affecting your server. The most common issue is ffmpeg right now, but you better check out the documentation http://code.google.com/p/bigbluebutton/wiki/InstallationUbuntu

Also, the best place to ask for help for this kind of issues is in the bigbluebutton mailing list. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/bigbluebutton-setup

I just noticed file deploy.sh in both bigbluebuttonbn and recordingsbn. It seems to be intended for a particular site. Can you please consider removing them from the packages? TIA
