OpenMeetings is a free browser-based software that allows you to set up instantly a conference in the Web. You can use your microphone and/or webcam, share documents on a white board, discuss in a chat, share your screen or record meetings. It is available as hosted service or you download and install a package on your own server.

With this integration and the current OpenMeetings version 3.+ you can create different types of rooms and separated users in OpenMeetings with the access-level "SOAP-Only". The "SOAP-Only" user can do exactly what is needed to run the integration but nothing more. This does result in no need for any OpenMeetings Admin-User in the Moodle Module config! So you can better protect your OpenMeetings server from non-authorized access via the SOAP Gateway and no need to share confidential account data. "SOAP-Only" users can not login to OpenMeetings administration or manipulate user accounts via SOAP. OpenMeetings also supports access via https and ldap-/Active Directory-Integration.

The latest OpenMeetings Moodle Module is for Moodle 3.0 and is compatible only with OpenMeetings 3.1.x. It is recommended to update to the latest version of OpenMeetings.

Sample Video showing the installation of the Moodle Module and integration with new access level:

The features of the OpenMeetings Moodle Plugin:
- Openmeetings rooms can be displayed inside a Moodle course in a frame, in a new window or can occucy the entire window
- Secure "SOAP-Only" user access level (see documentation on top)
- 3 Moderation Types for Conference Rooms (Moodle admins, teachers and course creators are automatically a moderator):
Moderation Type A) Participants need to wait till the teacher enters the room
Moderation Type B) Participants can already start (first User in room becomes moderator)
Moderation Type C) Every participant is automatically moderator when he/she enters the room
- 3 Room Types (Conference, Interview & Webinar)
- New Flag "Allow Recording": You can set in the room configuration now a flag that controls if the recording button is available or not
- Moodle Module languages: German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Brazilian (OpenMeetings itself has around 30 languages)
- Clear and restructure conference creation form for Moodle moderators

    Hello,

what happens if you check the following URL: https://yourserver:port/contaxt/services/UserService?wsdl
Is this URL accessible via the browser?

Which port you have configured on the openmeetings server and in the settings of the openmeetings plugin in moodle, port 5080 (the standard port of om)? And what about the firewall? Is the port 5080 open?

    Thanks & Greetings,
    Michael

Hi Michael, its me again smile
    I think i find a bug..maybe...

We are using moodle 2.7 an OM 3.07 on ubuntu Server 14.04 (incl. latest patchlevel)

Om and Moodle are working fine ..but we can reproduce the following error:

in course create an activity OM and change display to new browser window --> got timeout from server.
Apache Logfile says: "Segmentation fault (11), possible coredump in /etc/apache2"

If we delete this activity, we are able to use your plugin in all variants.
If we don't delete this "new windows OM activity" we cannot create new activities with the plugin.

If we never use the "new window" function, we have no problems.

    Any ideas???

    Jochen

    Hello Jochen,

sorry, but I can't reproduce the error you described. I tested the latest moodle om plugin now with moodle 2.8, 2.9 & 3.0 and the openmeetings version 3.0.7.
I testet the plugin with all three room types (conference, webinar & interview) together with the "new window" function. I had no problems or error messages using the om rooms.

I will try it with moodle 2.7 later, ok?

    Thanks & Greetings,
    Michael

    Hi Michael, thanks for testing.
With a new MoodleDB i have no problems at all.
I did enable debugging in Moodle an get the following error when i use the "newwindow" option.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 32 bytes) in /var/www/html/cache/classes/loaders.php on line 544.

    Any idea??

    Thanks
    Jochen

    Hi
This is a great plugin but has a problem. the problem is I cannot manage the recorded files. so when the recorded files are increase it is very difficult to find and assign a recorded to file to activity.

    Hi Michael,
    Happy new Year.

    I find another Problem.
The plugin generate a "new windows" and "full window" as an iframe.
In both case if in the mms.cfg from adobe flash plugin the variable thirdpartystorage=0 (in case of IT-Security), the flash-plugin cannot access the AV-Hardware. Is it possible to get the "new window" function with
a new browser window an the url in Browser of the OM-Server?
I hope you understand what i mean.
Otherwise you can contact me by jochen[punkt]kinsinger[klammeraffe]gmail.com.
