Important information.

The flashcard module was originally written by Valery for 1.9. It was hosted on the old Moodle plugins database, there was also an version initially ported to Moodle 2.

Tomek took over the work on it, finished porting into Moodle 2 and done few releases on the new plugins database page (this one). The latest version of this module is 3.2 and is available on github: . It includes set of fixes from alekiy that should get it to work on Moodle 2.5. You can use it but this development is dis-continued.

Valery has now updated his branch of flashcard module into Moodle 2.5. The source code is and the latest release is also on this, new plugins database as 2.4.0 (Build 2012040100). This is the branch you should be using now.

Both versions of flashcard module have diverged and are not compatible with each other. It's not possible to easily switch from one version (3.1 or 3.2) to another (2.4.0) without re-installing (and hence loosing all data).

Hi all, sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but I don't find where to download the module for Moodle 3.2. I looked here but could not find a zip... Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks!

I am on Moodle 3.14. I upgraded to the new 3.1 version and it broke my Moodle site! No copy, no deletes. When I reverted back to the old version (had to leave the version file to trick Moodle) it started working again!

No the official repository is at

Any information about "broke Moodle" ? this is a bit short to help us focus on the desease. Error messages ? What kind of "break" ? White page ? other visible effects ? Thanks to be as verbose as possible as i may not be able to reproduce the exact situation.

Hi Sorry but had to uninstall this plug in with Moodle 3.2 site as it prevents backups (a PHP error). Once removed Backups work fine. Please fix as we like this plug in.

I, also, am on Moodle 3.1 and the flashcard 3.0 version caused issues. The issues were that we could no longer duplicate files nor could we delete files when editing course pages. We received an "An error occurred." message. To help, here are the error log entries when trying to duplicate or delete a file:

2017/03/02 10:37:44 [error] 1517#1517: *13918582 FastCGI sent in stderr: "PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Class backup_flashcard_activity_task contains 1 abstract method and must therefore be declared abstract or implement the remaining methods (backup_activity_task::define_my_settings) in /moodlefiles/www/moodle/mod/flashcard/backup/moodle2/backup_flashcard_activity_task.class.php on line 0" while reading response header from upstream, client:, server:, request: "POST /course/rest.php HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock:", host: "", referrer: ""

When I try to start the function import in a course with Flashcard I get under 3.2 the message:
Fatal error: Class backup_flashcard_activity_task contains 1 abstract method and must therefore be declared abstract or implement the remaining methods (backup_activity_task::define_my_settings) in
    ..\moodle\mod\flashcard\backup\moodle2\backup_flashcard_activity_task.class.php on line 4390973

Hi Valery, I cannot get the info you have requested. I am using a provider who does not provide with these information.
