Activities: BigBlueButtonBN
BigBlueButton is an open source web conferencing system for online learning. The goal of the project is to enable instructors to live online classes, virtual office hours, and group collaboration with remote students. BigBlueButton is open source.
BigBlueButton supports real-time sharing of slides (including whiteboard), audio, video, chat, emojis, breakout rooms, and screen. It also record all content for later playback.
The BigBlueButton project was started in 2008 by Blindside Networks. In addition our work on BigBlueButton core, we created this BigBlueButtonBN Moodle plugin so you can fully leverage BigBlueButton's capabilities from within your Moodle site.
The BigBlueButtonBN plugin enables you to:- Create multiple activity links to online sessions within any course
- Restrict students from joining a session until a teacher (moderator) joins the session
- Launch BigBlueButton in a separate window
- Create a custom welcome message that appears at the top of the chat window when joining the session
- Specify join open/close dates for the session that appears in the Moodle's calendar
- Record a session
- Access and manage recordings
The best way to install is directly from moodle.org. For a video walkthrough of installing the plugin, click the image below
You’ll notice in the video that BigBlueButtonBN module comes pre-configured with a test BigBlueButton server, aptly called test-install.blindsidenetworks.com. This server is maintained by Blindside Networks maintains to help test your installation with BigBlueButton. Blindside Networks also develops and maintains the BigBlueButtonBN plugin.
For information on setting up your own BigBlueButton server, see http://bigbluebutton.org/.

It's hard to provide support in these (non-threaded forums). As posted earlier,

Just append the following message: command not found
I have installed this plugin on moodle 3.1 and it works fine but I want to customize it ( the persian translation )
the "and" in the expression "There are 3 moderators and 0 viewers." is not included in language customization
how can I change it?
I have 2 questions which are important for me at the present (urgent):
1. How can I record video/audio on IOS device (iphones). Is there not any way to do that?
2. When I reinstall bigbluebutton server after backup all recording folder to backup location, then I restore all of recording to the default location of recording (/var/bigbluebutton) and run bbb-record --rebuildall. How can I display all recordings again on moodle via RecordingBN plugin. I check the mdl_bigbluebuttons table in mysql, there is not any row that related to old recording before reinstalling.
I'm using the latest of BigBlueButton server and plugins.
Thanks for support,
Noat
Thanks,
I have a big question about the big blue button. Couple weeks ago my organization upload the big blue button on the moodle system but some people said that , that is risky and we can not use it while even the teachers used already and gave the good feedback about the big blue button. So, is there any requirements such as payment method or something else in order to use big blue button.
Thanks for support,
EBAH
There is no payment requirements for using BigBlueButton. It's freely available under the LGPL 3.0 license (see https://bigbluebutton.org/open-source-license/). Regards,... Fred
