Provides an activity level integration between Moodle and Adobe Connect Pro

The Remote Learner Adobe Connect Pro activity module provides the officially sponsored integration method between Moodle and Adobe Connect Pro. It was developed in conjunction with the Remote-Learner development team and Adobe Inc. It is designed to simplify the use of synchronous events within Moodle. It provides a single sign on between the two systems with easy event creation and management.

The module allows users to create Adobe Connect Pro meetings by adding an activity instance and providing the meeting name, url (optional), start time, end time, meeting template and a public or private meeting setting.

There is also support for Moodle groups so that users who are only a part of a group can join meetings that are only for their Moodle group.

Any user who creates or joins a meeting will have their account created on the Adobe Connect server (if one doesn't exist) and they will be signed in automatically using HTTP header authentication. So as long as the user is logged into Moodle they will never have to enter in user credentials to get access to an Adobe Connect meeting.

This module creates 3 roles: Adobe Connect Host, Presenter and Participant in Moodle to reflect the roles on the Adobe Connect server. Users can be assigned these roles through Moodle and they will have the corresponding roles on the Adobe Connect server when they join.

The activity module will also display meeting recordings (if there are any) that are available.

Disclaimer:  If you have a Adobe Connect Pro hosted account the single sign-on or external authentication will not work; as Adobe has disabled external authentication for hosted account.

Hi, i've Moodle 2.8 and Connect 9.1. We have a problem on transferring usernames to Connect correctly. While adjusting roles in moodle, User Full names and e-mails are shown in the lists but it shows NAME SURNAME ( , , e-mail@address, ) and probably these users are not correctly redirect to connect then Connect Pro shows the Login page and requires to login or choose Guest login everytime. Our users on moodle could not login automatically on the Connect session. May I fix this issue with an easy trick?
    Thanks..

Hello Cihat, I'm not sure I quite understand the issue. What do you mean by transferring usernames to Connect?

You said that User full names and emails are shown in the list when adjusting roles, so when and where does it show NAME SURNAME (,,e-mail@address, )?

Can you confirm whether this issue is happening to every user on your site?

    Regards,

    Hi,

We're testing the plugin with an Hosted Adobe Connect account so without SSO; it seems to works fine, it create the meeting and the users but we're not able to login into Adobe Connect with the users created by the Plugin.

If a user is not present in Connect it's created an it's ok, but i guess it should use the Moodle pwd and this is not the case, so the question is:

if i've not SSO with http_header how can i log into Adobe Connect with the users created by the plugin? there is a default password?

    Thanks for you help.

We are currently using this plugin with a locally hosted Adobe Connect 8 and it works well. We are attempting to upgrade to Connect v9 and it mostly works, but we find that user credentials are not being passed across from Moodle to Adobe Connect and so users are being asked to log in to Connect. We are testing 2.7.1.0 (2014070200) version of the plugin as we use Moodle 2.7. Is this something that we should expect with the plugin?

    Hello,
Can someone please tell me if this plugin will work with a hosted Connect server? I've seen a lose reference to a specific feature that will not work with a hosted Connect server, but I haven't seen anything more specific.

    Thank you so much!

    Hello Serko,

The plug-in does work with a hosted Connect accounts, except for SSO. This means that when a user attempts to connect to a meeting that does not allow guest logins, the user will have to enter their username and password. The plug-in, when it creates new accounts, does not keep a record of the password used to create the new account.

The only way around this is to have a Connect Pro administrator edit the user account and set a new password for the user.

Another thing to note is that the plug-ins were originally tested against Connect Pro 7.5. I have seen users test the plug-in against newer versions of Connect Pro, however I cannot speak on any of the issues that were encountered.

    Hope this helps.

We will update the plugin in the bugtracker in some days I think. we have change the code, that an SSO for adobe connect hosted server is possible and include some other settings like "user auto login".
we've test it with moodle 2.7, 2.8 and 2.9 and it work, we still make a final check with users.

Please add support for 2.9.1, and fix Moodle SSO to Connect 9.4+ ! Currently being asked to join as Guest, does not pass Moodle credentials. Thanks!
