Provides an activity level integration between Moodle and Adobe Connect Pro

The Remote Learner Adobe Connect Pro activity module provides the officially sponsored integration method between Moodle and Adobe Connect Pro. It was developed in conjunction with the Remote-Learner development team and Adobe Inc. It is designed to simplify the use of synchronous events within Moodle. It provides a single sign on between the two systems with easy event creation and management.

The module allows users to create Adobe Connect Pro meetings by adding an activity instance and providing the meeting name, url (optional), start time, end time, meeting template and a public or private meeting setting.

There is also support for Moodle groups so that users who are only a part of a group can join meetings that are only for their Moodle group.

Any user who creates or joins a meeting will have their account created on the Adobe Connect server (if one doesn't exist) and they will be signed in automatically using HTTP header authentication. So as long as the user is logged into Moodle they will never have to enter in user credentials to get access to an Adobe Connect meeting.

This module creates 3 roles: Adobe Connect Host, Presenter and Participant in Moodle to reflect the roles on the Adobe Connect server. Users can be assigned these roles through Moodle and they will have the corresponding roles on the Adobe Connect server when they join.

The activity module will also display meeting recordings (if there are any) that are available.

Disclaimer:  If you have a Adobe Connect Pro hosted account the single sign-on or external authentication will not work; as Adobe has disabled external authentication for hosted account.

    Hey Alice
Any news about using this on moodle 3?
We are going to upgrade our moodle to 3, but AC is the most important part of our site.
    Is it supported?

    Hi Dosimbek,
If a meeting is already running the API is a little slow at adding users to the presenter or host role. I usually suggest they try to join the meeting a head of time and then when they come back at the actual meeting time it should work. I've seen this on our on-prem install. I spoke with Adobe Support and they said once a meeting is running it can take up to 15 minutes for the role to take effect. I believe they will also have to leave and rejoin to see it.

Hi was wondering if anyone could help?
It has been reported many people trying to view videos hosted on adobe connect have been getting a loading symbol and the video never loads. This is recent and the videos work fine for me.

    Appreciate quick feedback on this.

I get lots of errors when trying to set up this module. I started today a trial period with Adobe Meetings. After installing this module and do the test, this is what I get:

    Sending common-info call:

I don't know what it means... but I know it doesn't work. I don't what to fill in adobeconnect_admin_httpauth (my-user-id?) either. Tested on moodle 2.7 and 3.0 with same results.

    Any ideas? Thanks!!!

@Jonathan Green, confirm whether your Connect Pro is using HTTPS or not and toggle the appropriate setting. Also try changing the port setting to 443. Lastly have a look at this blog post as this plug-in was tested against an old version of Connect Pro (7.5). Hope this helps.

We are testing this plugin currently before possibly making it available within the organisation. Is there are way to configure which Adobe Connect Folder the meeting rooms are created in? It appears they are all being created in the root of the shared meetings folder which is messy and hard to manage and clear out. I've checked the plugin settings but cannot see an option.

    Any advice appreciated.

    We use
    Moodle 2.4.6+ (Build: 20130927)

There were three people with these last names that never got registered as users on Adobe Connect when registering on our Moodle site.

There are some characters in these users names and surnames that are making the problem.

How can we change the code so that it allows for all chcaracters in users' names?

    Best regards, Jonas

@Jonas, we had a similar issue where a user was creating meeting names with accents in the name. Can you confirm whether you can create meeting names accents in them? If it works then have a look at this issue

Hi Akinsaya, Thanks a lot for your reply! It is possible to create a meeting with the name Malmö, however it is not correctly displayed in Adobe Connect.Instead the Ö will be changed into other characters. Best Regards, Jonas
