This course format displays sections with an image and an optional text if added in the section summary.
With this design, this course format goal is to present the course quickly with just the main information about the sections (title of the section). Users don’t see the details of the section, For instance, resources or activities. So, this course format is rather recommended for a linear course or any course where it isn't important to quickly see the resources/activities.
Softcourse is a course format for Moodle developed by Pimenko.
Overview of Softcourse
In this video we use Soft Course format and the block "Course module navigation".
Features :
Check the documentation for full explanations : https://docs.moodle.org/39/en/softcourse1. Describe your course. A description can be added before section 0. If you "edit settings" of the course, you can add text and image to describe your course. A first area display a “start” button with your description. You can't add activity/resource (mod) in this area.

2. Custom sections
- Only the title of sections with an image is visible. A short description (100 words) can be added for each section.

- For each section, you can edit the presentation image.

Users can see the number of activities for each section.
Recommendations :
- Describe your course : we think it is better to add a short description or/and an image to describe or introduce your course. You can use the first area at the top of the course homepage.
- To improve orientation of learners in your course pages, you can use the Course Module navigation block..
- We recommend to use an image with 250px X 150px or a similar ratio.
Option :
If you wan to simplify your course homepage, you can display only the short description of the course. All sections can be hidden.

can you help me?
I installed this course format and found it really beautiful, but I'm not able to make the necessary restrictions for some sessions, for example:
I need to leave a session named 'certificated' completely hidden and only be released when the student reaches the required average, but they are not succeeding. I tried all the ways but I can't.
Thank you for your help
I just checkrestriction on section. In my case, it works. For example if I add a restriction (with achievement activity linked with a quiz). I have a warning message "Sorry, this activity is currently hidden" when we click
But with this course format, sections restricted are not hidden. There are just restricted.

I got the message
Activity deletion in progress...

May you help me to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance

Thank you for your interest
I wanted to share the problem you identified. Softcourse needs the cron to work properly. The error you describe is related to the cron not running correctly. So I recommand to everybody to check cron if you encounter this error.
Kind regards
Clément
