Your Moodle version

Filters: PoodLL Filter

Maintained by Picture of Justin Hunt Justin Hunt
The PoodLL filter allows you to put widgets such as stopwatches and flashcards into HTML areas. It is a pre-requisite plugin for the PoodLL Repository, Poodll Online Assignment and Poodll Recording Question types.
Moodle 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7

This plugin is part of set Poodll.

Using the PoodLL filter you can add a variety of widgets to your courses. These include a stopwatch, dice, countdown timer, audio list player, flashcards, a whiteboard and simple video galleries. You can do this by hand crafting PoodLL filter strings, or by using the PoodLL Repository to add widgets via the file chooser. More information on PoodLL filter strings is available at .

The other PoodLL mods, PoodLL Online Assignment(2.2) , Online PoodLL Assignment Submission type (2.3+), PoodLL Recording Question Type, the PoodLL Repository, and the PoodLL database field all require the PoodLL filter.

Moodle caching can affect audio/video playback reliability. With PoodLL it is best to turn off text filter caching:
Go to: Site Administration -> Plugins -> Filters ->Common Filter Settings
There set "Text Cache Lifetime" to "no"

OK, it took a while but I tracked this down. It is something we can work around it. I while upload a new version in a day or so. I added an issue to the tracker about this

Is there any way that the flashcards can display a picture for the question? I have the flashcards working fine for just text but I'm looking for our LDD Learners to use Moodle too and if I could use pictures for the question then this would be a really valuable feature (currently just shows a blank flashcard if you use a picture).
Any help you can give would be very much appreciated.

There is a way to do this, but it is not very "easy." And a bit clunky. I will fish out the details and post a link back here

    Hi Justin,
I have Poodll version 2013081900 installed on Moodle 2.45.
Using Internet Explorer 10, when my students try to submit a whiteboard drawing, it blanks the drawing and says NOTHING SUBMITTED.

When they use Firefox 24, it works fine.

Is there a fix for IE10?

I don't think there is any problem with IE10. I use it without incident in Windows 8. But I believe you when you say you have seen a problem. Is there anything else that might be causing this?

Sorry about that Daniel. That is not a common problem at all.

    What theme are you running?
Does changing the theme make a difference?
And are there any errors showing up in the error log?

Hello everybody, I tried to install PoodLL filter, but the following message apears when finishing uploading the zip file:
"A required parameter (sesskey) was missing".
    Any ideas?

Javier: The "video phones" feature is really a demo of the webcam broadcast and webcam subscribe widgets. They will work on standard PoodLL, but they require Red5. Our server will probably be a bit slow for realtime communications, so you would be better to invest in your own.

Pedro: I think that is not a PoodLL specific problem. It sounds like a timeout problem. Try using Moodles ability to auto-install plugins directly from
