This block aims to give teachers and staff a simple tool to view how many students didn't visit a course for a long time and doing so, tries to reduce student's dropping out.
The block is customizable :
- block's title
- choose the roles and groups you want to track
- choose the roles able to see the block
- set the number of days from last connection required to track users
- set an amount of results to display (the rest can be toggled with a button)
- change the default date format used by the block
It also includes a link to open the direct Moodle message dialog, allowing teachers and managers to contact the tracked users in very a fast and easy way.

I have some custom roles installed and even if I set the 'track every role' to NO, these custom roles still show up as inactive students. How do I remove them from the list? The custom roles are not student roles! Also not based on the archetype STUDENT!
I just made a test this morning with a custom role and it worked on the latest version. Could you upgrade the plugin and give another try ?
The Moodle way seems to be by editing the config.php file at the root of the Moodle installation folder on your server. See the official doc about the method : https://docs.moodle.org/33/en/Block_layout
I have new issue for Moodle version 3.3.5 and details are here https://github.com/Hipjea/moodle-block_studentstracker/issues/9.
Appreciate your help and advise. Thanks!
