This block was created to provide Moodle users with a modern PDF / PPT / DOC / DOCX Annotation.

GroupDocs Annotation is used to annotate text documents and images so it is useful to anyone who writes or reviews documents. It can be used to gather questions or feedback on a text, or discuss texts and images when it's not possible to be in the same room.

The app has an intuitive dashboard of tools that makes it easy to annotate documents. Simply install the plugin to embed GroupDocs Annotation with your documents and publish them to Moodle sites.

Because GroupDocs Annotation supports many popular text and image file formats, and works in a web browser, it overcomes cross-platform and cross-version issues. Use GroupDocs Annotation as an online Microsoft Word annotator, Excel annotator, Adobe PDF annotator, image annotator and so on.

I've asked that the following issues be addressed prior to approving:
    1) modify the plugin so that it does not require changes to the theme (i.e. which makes it a patch rather than a plugin)
    2) fix the requires number if the plugin is indeed intended for Moodle 2.0

In addition, it would be nice if we could also:
    1) add a tracker url to the plugins entry
    2) fixing some of the PHP notices (variable initialization)

    Peace - Anthony

@Anthony Borrow Thank you for your review.

We made required changes to our plugin. It would be desirable to specify that our plugin doesn't demand modification of a theme for its direct use, introduction of these changes is our recommendations for those users who will want to place the block with a plugin to the central region since your CMS doesn't allow to make it without these changes.
Could you please clarify the point about " add a tracker url to the plugins entry." ?

    With best regareds,

On this page you will see a section called Useful links which gives the URLs for supporting pages (documentation, source code, and how to report issues via some type of bug tracker). has a tracker or you can use and I could create a component for your plugin in the CONTRIB project. If you have any questions just let me know. I'll take another look at the plugin. You may also want to consider requesting an improvement to Moodle in the tracker so that users wanting to use the block in the central region do not have to patch their theme. Thanks for clarifying that the recommendation to patch the theme. Peace - Anthony

I've requested that the zip file from be modified to remove the 1_9 appendages to the table name, block name, and file names so that it can be added as the 1.9 version in this plugin entry. Peace - Anthony

I have marked the duplicate entry - - as needing more work and then once the 1.9 version is added here to this entry we can delete the duplicate. Peace - Anthony

    Hi Anthony,
It's a known bug and they try to resolve it a long time. In each version there is certain realization and all different.

theres two versions for 2.0 currently , one is from Friday, January 18, 2013, 5:28 PM and one if from last year on Dec 6. The latest one only supports 2.0. Do you need to correct this for be 2.0 to 2.3 for the (2.0) version uploaded in Jan 18 ?

Blocks in the central region are allowed only on the My Moodle page (see discussion and links in
Also : , essentially my moodle and frontpage can have blocks in the center already.

Otherwise the theme needs to support it. We don't promote plugins that ask the user to change code, we prefer if the code is already created here ready for the user to download and use so:

    - i suggest looking at it might be useful to provide them as a set. What do you think?
    - Alternatively you can always create and put up a theme of your own that already implements the code mentioned in your README.txt smile

    Hi Aparup Banerjee,
Thank you for review. We fixed confusion with versions, if it's possible you can delete all archives except 1.9 version and 2.3 version whtich we added 01.02.2013
Regarding asking the user to change code, there is no need for plugin work. If alrady posible to put blocks in centre it's not needed at all.

Thanks for the confusion fix up smile

Good to know it works like out of the box smile, can i suggest then to simplify the readme to state that the code modification are purely optional ? At the moment, the instructions there seem complex.

Is there a how-to tutorial somewhere? My admin installed this but I can't figure out how to actually use it to add PDFs to my course and allow learners to annotate.

    HI Tianna
The documentation for annotation is under progress
Meanwhile please see the documentation for Viewer and complete steps. There may be minimal differences.
As soon as documentation for Annotation will be ready we will notice you.
