Hi guys. As described in MDLSITE-3246, we needed this theme in the Plugins directory asap so I went ahead and uploaded the latest version from Andrea's repository here (after making sure it works in 2.7). Please go through all the Plugin check results displayed above and improve the plugin record respectively. Thanks for maintaining this theme for Moodle users around.

The blocks-region min-height or 400px from blocks.css causes the first line of the grader report to be covered, disabling the links for the first student.

I love this theme! We are using it with 2.7 and with only one exception, it's working perfectly. The exception is in the user profiles. Many of my users have had to enter updates to their profile multiple times.

Also the "Description" text area won't allow text to be saved. It appears to save but the text does not display of the profile. I have switched back to the Clean theme to see if I could replicate. Using the Clean theme I was able to successfully enter and save text in the Description field and have it display on a user profile.

    Ideas?

    Jamie

    Ciao Jaime.
To verify your comment I made a fresh clean moodle 2.7 install and I installed formal_white theme just downloaded from here.
I really can not reproduce the issue you describe.
Please execute my same steps by yourself and, probably, you will find that the issue is due to some third parts plugin.
Even more... I find it quite strange that changing css I can deny php to save the content of a field.

I remember I had something similar many years ago and I fixed it by starting from a fresh Moodle and FW clean install and installing third parts plugin one by one and verifying the issue at each new plugin installation.

Formal White is a really nice theme. I especially like the ease with which you can change the whole color scheme by making a simple selection then fine tune the colors to suit, and that the side blocks are fixed width. I am curious as to whether or not it is going to be updated for Moodle 2.8 any time soon. I am using it with 2.8.3 and everything seems to work except the new scroll feature of the Grader Report page. The student names do not remain static and scroll out of sight. The horizontal scroll still shows under the grades instead of at the bottom of the whole page like it does in other 2.8 themes.

Hello everyone, I would like to upgrade my site from version 2.6 to version 2.8.
I have always used this theme. Do you plan to upgrade to the new version of Moodle?
Thanks in advance for all you do!

Hello, and thanks for you appreciation of the Formal white theme. Unfortunately at the present time there are no plans to update Formal white theme to current Moodle versions such as 2.8 or 2.9. There are themes in the core distribution, such as "More", that are responsive, thus much better suited to be viewed both on desktop and mobile devices. "More" allows you to edit CSS rules directly form the web interface, making easy to customize it according to your needs and it could be a possible alternative.

The latest version of Moodle where Formal white theme has been included is version 2.6. However you can test the 2.6 theme on higher versions of Moodle and eventually fix issue that may arise.
