Sadly, I don't have time to work actively on the project, I can answer questions, but I am not going to develop any major change. If you want to contribute as developer I can help you to get started with the project. Just ping me.

Thanks a lot to Barbara Ramiro and David for their suggestions, I will try to improve everything you said.

Moodle 3.2

I have received several emails asking why Archaius doesn't work on Moodle 3.2. The quick answer is: it does. you just have to install the base theme (, I think I am going to remove that dependency to avoid problems in the future.

Best regards,

    Hello Daniel,
Your new version of the theme is the icons of the editor in the Quickmail block away.

    Hi Daniel,

Still having problems to install the theme?

It seems to be something not related with archaius itself: Couldn't resolve host ''

    Hi again Daniel.

I haven't change anything related with icons, so, I cant override the icons of other plugins. Maybe you can send me an email with an image and I can test it in my development website, to try to figure it out what is happening.

    Hi Daniel

the latest theme version is very heavy. have contemplated optimize it?

  • Tue, Dec 16, 2014, 10:47 PM
    Hi Juan Camilo,

If you are talking about the folder itself (what you download), yes it is very heavy, but it is because I forgot to ignore the node_modules folder in my repository. I think I already fix it there, if not I am going to do it.

If you are referring to the executable code, I am not sure, but last time I checked it, it is not heavy if you compare with other Moodle Themes with similar functionality. Especially if they use Bootstrap.

I haven't been very into Moodle for the last two months because I am working with other frameworks and languages, but my plan is release a new version in January with improvements like resolving stupid mistakes like omit the node_modules folder and something Tim Hunt and David Mudrak pointed out sometime ago about my blocks effect.

    Best regards,

    Hi again Juan Camilo,

Well, I don't know if where talking just about the folder size but yes, I uploaded the theme with node_modules folder (sorry), I will upload a new version today with that small fix.

    Thanks a lot,

I tested my theme in Moodle 2.8 and it seems to work ok, so, I have added a new version of my theme and removed the node_modules folder.

Juan, if you still worry about performance, you can test the theme against bootstrap base themes and share the result, it could be useful for me too.

    Hi Gary,
You can modify the /layout/partials/footer.php and put your HTML where you want it to appear.

These line is to add the HTML you write in theme options:
    <?php if (!empty($PAGE->theme->settings->footnote)) { ?><?php echo $PAGE->theme->settings->footnote; ?><?php }?>

You can move it to the place you want it to appear or just add you HTML in the file. (just remember that every time you update the theme your changes will be removed)
    Best regards,
