Important!

Sadly, I don't have time to work actively on the project, I can answer questions, but I am not going to develop any major change. If you want to contribute as developer I can help you to get started with the project. Just ping me.

Thanks a lot to Barbara Ramiro and David for their suggestions, I will try to improve everything you said.

Moodle 3.2

I have received several emails asking why Archaius doesn't work on Moodle 3.2. The quick answer is: it does. you just have to install the base theme (https://moodle.org/plugins/theme_base), I think I am going to remove that dependency to avoid problems in the future.

Best regards,

Daniel

Daniel - I want to give some thought to the name of the plugin. Chamaleon was a core theme in Moodle 1.9. I wonder if it would be better to rename the theme so that folks do not confuse the two or think that your version is a 2.x version of the one previously in core. Would you consider renaming it? Having been a fan of chamaleons in my youth, you might even consider renaming it to anole wink Peace - Anthony

Anthony - Thanks for your help, I was talking with some friends about the name, and Anole sounds strange in spanish for them, We were looking for a possible name and we found: archaius. Do you think that it is ok ?

Daniel - lol, I could see where it might sound a little strange in Spanish. Feel free to change it to whatever you think would be best. I simply did a grep replace of chameleon to anole and renamed a couple of files so it should be pretty quick and easy. Let me know how I can be of help and thanks again for your flexibility. Peace - Anthony

    Hi Anthony.

I think that everything is ok. Now I will wait that you change the package name from theme_anole to theme_archaius to upload the source code.

    Thanks a lot.

Daniel - Many thanks for your flexibility with the name of the theme. I have tested the latest version and all looks good. Making these changes at the beginning will help avoid problems down the road. Please consider adding tracker and documentation URLs to the Useful links section. You can either use Github's wiki (docs) and issues (tracker) or Moodle Docs and Moodle Tracker. Please do not hesitate to let me know if there is anything I can do to be supportive of your efforts. Peace - Anthony

We have applied the theme to a 2.4.3 and a 2.4.1 install and now when we are in a course the show/hide icon for topic sections is not showing anymore. When we apply a different theme these icons show again. Many of our teachers have content that they want to hide until they are ready to make it available.... Is there a work around for this?

Hi Daniel, we all like this theme and applied to our Moodle. There is one thing, in "my home" page, there is an extra "Course overview" shows between the "course overview" bar and course list, could you tell me how to remove it? And also we want change the background color of "course overview" bar,I have changed the "navbar" background color in css file, but we need a different background color for "Course Overview" bar.

Hi guys, I have to start with that I love this theme but I'm having issues with using this theme and the grid format together. If I use the up to date grid course format topic 0 doesn't appear at all. I thought it was a plugin issue but I've tried a couple of other themes without this issue.

    Hi Nicholas.

Yes, it is something that I realized couple of weeks ago. I want to fix it and improve the theme as soon as I can. But at the moment I am too busy with my work and my semester at the university (final exams are a horrible time). I will fix these details in June.

If you want to keep using the theme, you can deactivate the collasible topics effect from the archaius settings page until I can fix it.

    The option is called:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------
    Collapsible Topics effect
    theme_archaius | collasibleTopics
    ------------------------------------------------------------------

As I always say, Thanks for your help to improve my theme.

    Best regards,
    Daniel.
