This repository plugin provides a course file storage area within Moodle 2+ which is similar in function to the Course Files functionality in Moodle 1.x, using the same numbered directories within the moodle data directory.

This repository is capable of operating as both an internal and external files repository,
although the internal capability is disabled by default. If the internal files capability
is enabled on a normal Moodle system then any files used will be copied into the new Moodle 2+ file structure.

You will also need to install the "Repository File Manager" on your Moodle to make use of this plugin.

Will this repository allow for linking to files instead of copying of files. Furthermore will it enable you to updat the central file in the respository so that all linked files file deliver the new file through the existing link?

Hi there,

I have installed this repo plugin along with block "repository file manager" in my dev env. I uploaded some files into this new repo "Course file area" successfully because not only I can see from "repository file manager" point of view, but also from /var/www/moodledata with numbered file structure.

However, why I can't see these uploaded file in this repo inside of moodle file picker?

Any idea?

are you working on the moodle 2.2 version? i'm unable to choose the file uploaded using this plugin in the file picker...please help

Its because in coursefilearea/lib.php, the function called get_listing wont work correctly, the global variable $COURSE->id, at that point always returns 1 not the actual course id where the user is in.

Hi Tim, our campus installed both plugins and can see the connection ok. However, like the others stated, I cannot choose an uploaded file from the Course Files repository in the File Picker.

Is there an update coming soon on this? Thanks!
