  Problem for a newcomer. We have been asked to host a course that, unknown to us, uses this plugin. We imported the backup course and then tested. At first we discovered this plugin by getting this error "coding error detected, it must be fixed by a programmer: Unknown question type multichoiceset".
  
  We did some research, found this plugin, and installed. NOW when a user encounters one of the questions using this format (we think) it gives a new error.... "Can not find data record in database table qtype_multichoiceset_options"
  
  Can you advise as to what I need to do to fix this? It's quite urgent, actually.

  Try restoring the course again now that the plugin is installed.

  Hello Wade Noneya, if the plugin was installed after the question were imported, unfortunately all the multichoiceset questions that were imported or estored before the plugin installation are broken. This is not specific to multichoiceset question type plugin, it's the same problem when you import or restore questions and the corresponding plugin is not installed. Sorry.
  The best solution if you are able to do that would be to delete the imported course and import it again. If you are not able to do that and absolutely need to find a solution without deleting that course, send me a message and I will try to find a solution.
  To Eoin Compbell, we could try to prevent this problem by adding a default options record (similarly to what is done in multichoice) I will do a pull request to your Github.

  I suspected that might be the case. So now, with the plugin installed, if i were to reimport it would be fine? I can't redo what I've edited on the existing course, but there are only three questions in this bank that use this format, and if I could see the settings/content in another course that worked I suspect I could just recreate those questions in this case (thereby recreating that data?)?

  Is it possible in the future to have a negative grade if the chooses is incorrect? Or is there a plugin that allows you to assign negative grade for multiple answers?

  I believe the standard Moodle Multiple Choice question allows for negative grading of multiple answers.

  hey, we just noticed a layout problem with boost/clean theme (3.8.x) - the grey box for choices is not completely drawn. Where should I report the error - github or tracker? Maybe we can provide some code.

  I tried to restore content including that type of questions from backup and got an error below.
  Does it refer FEEDBACK> in xml file describing backup. Backup comes from version Moodle 1.9.7
  
  Column 'correctfeedbackformat' cannot be null INSERT INTO mdl_qtype_multichoiceset_options (shuffleanswers,correctfeedback,correctfeedbackformat,incorrectfeedback,incorrectfeedbackformat,answernumbering,shownumcorrect,questionid) VALUES(?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?)

  You could run up a Moodle 1.9.7 instance and import the backup there, then export the questions as XML to copy them.

  Dear Eoin and Jean, thank you for sharing a nice pluign. I was trying to restore imscc file and some question files, it showing syntax error that was originating from multichoiceset plugin . I just fixed that in my instance and requested you to please update the plugin. I'm adding here the path that cause an syntax error.

  After updating to v1.7.3 of this plugin, the following happens: When a user tries to review a quiz attempt or an attempted question, the browser shows a blank page with an error message. Please see my post in the bug tracker.
  
  I really hope this can be fixed as soon as possible as my students cannot review their recent exams anymore. Thanks a lot for your help!
