Poodll Recording
Question types ::: qtype_poodllrecording
Maintained by Justin Hunt
An audio/video recording question type for Moodle. It uses HTML5 audio and video recording on supported browsers, and falls back to flash and other technologies where required. It is also possible to provide responses to questions using the Poodll whiteboard feature. It requires the Poodll filter be installed. Recording from mobile devices is also supported.
Poodll Recording 2.5.6(Build 2014040800)
Moodle 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6
Released: Tuesday, 8 April 2014, 9:14 AM
PoodLL Recording
========================================
Thanks for downloading PoodLL.
* this version fixes a bug that affects some Moodle 2.3 users. An coding error would be thrown when the question was displayed*
Installation instructions and a video can be found at http://www.poodll.com .
If you are installing this mod separately from the full PoodLL kaboodle,
there should be only one folder "poodllrecording" expanded after you unzip the zip file.
Place this folder into your moodle installation under the [site_root]/question/type folder.
Then login to your site as an administrator and go to your Moodle site's "notifications" page.
Moodle should then guide you through the installation or upgrade of the PoodLL filter.
Then when you go to create a question you should see a new question type, poodllrecording, in the list.
The question accepts several response types:
1) Video recording (via PoodLL's Red Server tokyo.poodll.com)
2) Audio Recording (via PoodLL's Red Server tokyo.poodll.com)
3) MP3 Recording (doesn't require Red5)
4) Whiteboard (draw pictures, optionally over a background)
Moodle caching can affect audio/video playback reliability. To turn off text filter caching:
Go to: Site Administration -> Plugins -> Filters ->Common Filter Settings
There set "Text Cache Lifetime" to "no"
*Please be aware that the poodllrecording question relies on the PoodLL Filter being installed, and won't work properly otherwise*
Good luck.
