Tab Display is a resource module used to display course information such as notes, readings, biography etc, in a tab structure per chapter/module within a course.

Websites can also be embedded into the tabs. Using Moodle auto-linking, helps create links to other activities or resources.

New features:

  • A general description can be added above the tabs
  • PDF embedded functionality. If you put a link with a PDF file on the content of a tab (without any text around), the PDF file will be displayed in an iFrame

PS: to anybody watching here. These guys have done a good job of this plugin. But as I posted above, they probably have gone on.
    https://oohoo.biz/index.php/en/plug-ins/display/tab-topics-course-format/ latest release 2013

Is this plugin a possible candidate for plugin adoption and someone else to volunteer to either fork or adopt the plugin?
Especially with the power of BS4 coming into the frame with Boost.
Boost + Fordson [or another theme . . .] + a tabs solution would be a powerful combination.

    Musing over.

Thanks Derek - will take a bit of time (over hols) to get up to catch up and hopefully will try stuff out in a little while (returning to dev after a long absence)

Derek I'd be very interested in knowing more about your workflow for creating BS4 tabs in boost. I'm talking to an administrator about building a course that would ideally utilise a 4-tab temlate format for each of 50+ pages. It would be great to have very simple instructions lined up (treat me as complete novice) before I request any plugns or themes installed....

Crashing in a Fordson theme overwriting a gray background.

    Hello,

I found the same issue as Polaris while testing Moodle 3.5.
    I am using Boost theme.

    The gray background is caused by the css rule: .row {background-color #eee}
Changing the line to .row {background-color #fff} solved the issue for me.
Though the row has a purpose to see which chapter you are in.

Might be an idea for further development / release to Moodle version 3.5 to fix this CSS line in a way it keeps it's function without causing the grey background lines.

How would I go about changing the color of the tabs? I've tried editing a colors in a few different options, but no luck.

I'm having issues with version 3.0.0 in Moodle 3.7. None of the tabs are showing any text even though it's in the tab settings. I down graded to 2.4.1 and seems to be working fine.

    Hi,
Thanks for this plugin - It's really good.
Is there a way to add an activity or resource directly to a tab - so in each tab will have a different activity or resource related to this tab?
    Thanks!

Also - maybe allow setting Activity completion per tab?

I've just pushed a version to GitHub that supports Moodle 4.x - https://github.com/andrewhancox/moodle-mod_tab
I've PR'd this to the upstream repo but am equally happy to be assigned as a maintainer and update this entry myself.

Andrew, are you able to take over the official version of the plug-in? Our vendor does not accept forked plugins and there's a healthy population of academic people who would love this to be available in 4 and above.
