A multiple-choice quiz designed for use in a face-to-face lesson.

Each student receives each question at the same time with a time limit to answer it (default 30 seconds). In between each question the correct answer is displayed, along with the number of students giving each answer (and some statistics about the percentage class / individual correct answers). This allows each question to be discussed before moving on.

Teachers can review the answers, once the quiz is finished, to identify any areas that need to be covered again.

Recent improvements (2010) include:

  • Ability to add a picture to each question
  • More attractive question display
  • Easier question editing
  • Reduced network traffic & improved stability (particularly on wireless networks)

Thank Davo Smith for contributing this plugin.
I think that it's more good if there are a html editor in the answers ,I want to insert pictures or videos to the answer.
Is there other types of question ?multiple choice,or essay?

Thanks for the suggestions. Using the HTML editor for answers is more complicated than simply switching it on - it involves a lot of extra code to handle storing the files. It will also make the question editing form a lot more complex and harder to use.

There is no support for question types other than multiple choice - it would be particularly hard to imagine how you could use essay questions in such a scenario (are you expecting the teacher to stop the class and individually mark each answer, before continuing?). For different question types, you will need to use the standard quiz module.

Buddy please add an option to track online students. So that the teacher can track them whether the students joined Quiz or not.

Santhosh - an interesting idea, but could you explain a bit more about how this would work? Where would the information display on the screen? Would this be based on tracking those students who have clicked 'connect', or are you wanting some other measure to see which students are online (those who have visited the course in the recent past?).

Also, is this a feature you would like me to look at when I next have some spare time, or is this a feature you have some funding available to enable me to prioritise it?

@Davo Smith, buddy It was an idea that I got when I was playing with your plugin. My idea is like the following:

    - When the teacher start the quiz she/ he should able to get the number of students joined in that particular session of quiz, it can be a 'DIV' which should be able to reload every 5 seconds.
    - Suppose the teacher started the quiz without nobody joined to answer, then it will become in vain.
-As you suggested those students who have clicked 'connect' can be taken as count.
    - In future you can add provision just like showing users online like in facebook.

For now if you can add a student count(those who are click connect), then it will be fantastic.

I liked the plugin a lot buddy. Cheers!!

I am not aware of any particular errors in this plugin and I don't quite understand your message about 'UTF-8'. Are those line numbers something to do with the error message? Which files are those errors in?

Anyway, the plugin should be uninstalled as per the standard instructions at https://docs.Moodle.org/en/Installing_plugins - scroll down to the uninstalling a plugin section.

If you are reporting an error it is also very helpful to include your Moodle version number, as that makes it easier to investigate further or offer help.

Davo, I like the plugin very much, use it now in moodle 2.6. Smaal wish: is it possible to add a small sparkline graph (histogram) in the rsult pages, for example using something like: http://omnipotent.net/jquery.sparkline

Interesting suggestion, Ger, but not something I'm likely to have time to look at in the near future.
