Activities: Realtime Quiz
You may want to consider using the Active quiz activity, instead of this, older, Realtime quiz activity. Active quiz is based on Realtime quiz, but adds question bank and gradebook support, feedback charts, better controls for the teacher, group support and many other useful features not found here.
A multiple-choice quiz designed for use in a face-to-face lesson.
Each student receives each question at the same time with a time limit to answer it (default 30 seconds). In between each question the correct answer is displayed, along with the number of students giving each answer (and some statistics about the percentage class / individual correct answers). This allows each question to be discussed before moving on.
Teachers can review the answers, once the quiz is finished, to identify any areas that need to be covered again.
Recent improvements (2010) include:
- Ability to add a picture to each question
- More attractive question display
- Easier question editing
- Reduced network traffic & improved stability (particularly on wireless networks)
Overview video (for the Moodle 1.9 version - the 2.x version looks slightly different):
Also, is this a feature you would like me to look at when I next have some spare time, or is this a feature you have some funding available to enable me to prioritise it?
- When the teacher start the quiz she/ he should able to get the number of students joined in that particular session of quiz, it can be a 'DIV' which should be able to reload every 5 seconds.
- Suppose the teacher started the quiz without nobody joined to answer, then it will become in vain.
-As you suggested those students who have clicked 'connect' can be taken as count.
- In future you can add provision just like showing users online like in facebook.
For now if you can add a student count(those who are click connect), then it will be fantastic.
I liked the plugin a lot buddy. Cheers!!
errors line 625, 418, 1601, 438.Have decided I won't use the plugin, but can't. Uninstall. By FTP have deleted the realtimequiz folder from /mod but still get plugins check when I log into moodle. Any assistance gratefully appreciated. Mark Perth West Australia
Anyway, the plugin should be uninstalled as per the standard instructions at https://docs.Moodle.org/en/Installing_plugins - scroll down to the uninstalling a plugin section.
what would be the ideal value for the AJAX waiting time with 100 or 200 simultaneous students answering the questionnaire?
