This is an alternative blog that you can install into standard Moodle.

It does not replace the standard blog, and operates alongside it. There are two modes of use:

1) As a course activity. In this case you can use it the same way as any other module. You can have course-wide blogs (everyone in the course posts to the same blog), group blogs, or individual blogs; the latter are useful for assessed activities (where the student is supposed to keep a journal which only they and their tutor can read).

2) As a replacement for standard Moodle personal blogs. In this case it would be a good idea to turn off the standard Moodle blog system, or it'll bevery confusing. You then need to MANUALLY provide students with a link to mod/oublog/view.php which will automatically take them to their personal blog.

When using for personal blogs, one feature of interest may be moderated public comments; when you allow comments from people who are not logged in, all such comments are moderated.

Please note: This plugin is no longer supported in Moodle Tracker. All support requests should be via the GitHub repository issue tracker (https://github.com/moodleou/moodle-mod_oublog).

Hi Jason. I'm a High School teacher and I use the plugin a lot with my students. Are you planning any update for moodle 3.0 ? This time I've updated the moodle site to 3.0 but the plugin isn't working.

2.9 version is now available. I'm afraid an official 3.0+ version will not be available until June 16 (check github for updates in the meantime).

    Hi

I would like to report a bug we encountered with mod_oublog on Moodle 2.9.3. If pictures are uploaded via drag-and-drop into a blog post they are visible as long as I'm in edit mode. If I save my blogpost, pictures are no longer visible. When pictures are added via file-picker everything works fine.

As drag-and-drop is a really useful functionality when including pictures in a blog, we would really appreciate if you could fix this bug.

    Best,
    Antonia

Hi, is there a timeframe for the release of a 3.0+ version?

    We have a 3.0 version on github - https://github.com/moodleou/moodle-mod_oublog/tree/MOODLE_30_STABLE.

At some point I will get around to updating the plugin version here (hopefully this week - though I have been meaning to do this for several months!)

How can I arrange to keep the block private and not let other registered users to be able to view course personal blog.
I set up a private blog but anyone registered in this course can view it, there is no option to change this setting, it is locked

Does the current version work on 3.2.1?

The current version may well work on 3.2.x but we haven't tested it. We will start developing against 3.2 in a few weeks; we will publish a stable release at some point late April I think, but if you grab from our master branch you can get any fixes earlier.

Hi, are there plans to update this to 3.2? I can't see a branch for 3.2 on GitHub yet?
