This is an alternative blog that you can install into standard Moodle.

It does not replace the standard blog, and operates alongside it. There are two modes of use:

1) As a course activity. In this case you can use it the same way as any other module. You can have course-wide blogs (everyone in the course posts to the same blog), group blogs, or individual blogs; the latter are useful for assessed activities (where the student is supposed to keep a journal which only they and their tutor can read).

2) As a replacement for standard Moodle personal blogs. In this case it would be a good idea to turn off the standard Moodle blog system, or it'll bevery confusing. You then need to MANUALLY provide students with a link to mod/oublog/view.php which will automatically take them to their personal blog.

When using for personal blogs, one feature of interest may be moderated public comments; when you allow comments from people who are not logged in, all such comments are moderated.

Please note: This plugin is no longer supported in Moodle Tracker. All support requests should be via the GitHub repository issue tracker (https://github.com/moodleou/moodle-mod_oublog).

Could we have a version for 3.3 and / or 3.4 please? We are thinking upgrading but many of our plug-ins including this one only work up to 3.1! Thanks!

Hello, I am trying to change background color in my ou blog activity. I also need to change visibility of author, date etc. Are these possible to change?

Regarding updates to Moodle 3.4 (and all other versions) - if you are desperate for it then you could try the 'master' branch in our github as we're currently running that against 3.4 in dev systems, but the proper MOODLE_34_STABLE branch will be created after we go live with Moodle 3.4. Our standard schedule is that if a Moodle release comes out in November then we go live the following June; if it comes out in May then we go live December. So for 3.4 it should be about June, if it's not there in June then it might be worth pestering us!

The MOODLE_34_STABLE branch is available on github right now so get it from there if you need it urgently. We haven't put it in the plugins database yet...

Hi Sam, are you still planning to put this into the plugin database? (Sorry to hassle you - I really appreciate that the OU makes this plugin available at all!)

Well, *I'm* not planning to, because I'm too lazy and don't even remember how. smile Jason is in charge of this plugin for the last several years. I think he said he was going to update it in the plugins db... He's off this week though. If it's actually really urgent, you could maybe try hassling me on the developer chat if you're in there... smile But given I don't know what I'm doing it might be safer if Jason does it.

It's not really urgent - I can get it from github for the time being (it's bending our policy a bit, but I made up the policy so I think I'm allowed smile)

    Hello,

I would like to know about the license type managed by the Ou Blog activity.
In the file README appear the text "Copyright 2012 The Open University".I have the doubt if the license was only this year or remained
    nowadays.
I need to modify the css, spanish language file and add new logic but i would like to ask for autorization to do it or some contact to communicate with you.

    Thanks.

Is there likely to be a release of this plugin for Moodle 3.6?
