moodle-mod_msteams

General information

This plugin combines two existing sources:

  • It uses the url module as a basement and works like that.
  • It is inspired by the atto_teamsmeeting-Plugin that allows the schedule a Microsoft Teams Meeting using an external tool called "meetingapp"

Prerequisites

You need a working installation of meetingapp. You can install it on your own infrastructure using a prepared tool from enovation (more info), or use the pre-defined app provided by enovation.

How does it work?

Simply add the MS Teams activity to your course page. It allows you to schedule an MS Teams meeting within an iframe and catches
the meeting url, which is stored as url-parameter in a hidden form field.

That way this activity works exactly as the url module with the only difference, that the URL is directly retrieved from Microsoft Teams.

    Dear Team,
    Thank you for this plugin.
The plugin was working fine, until last week, since the Firefox update, the plugin started redirecting the user to the Moodle login page within the iframe while trying to create the meeting link.
Please we need your support to fix it.
    Thank you.

Please use the bugtracker to report errors. In this case, I tried it with the most current version of Firefox on Ubuntu (96.0) and everything was working.

When can we get this plugin for moodle v4?

As this plugin is based on the normal "URL"-Plugin, I think it is still compatible with Moodle 4, just give it a try!

This plugin does not record the session in the Teams calendar. Is this the expected behavior? How to overcome this behavior?

    Hi Robert,
This plugin does not create a meeting in the MS Teams Calendar. Can you develop this enhancement?
    It would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Hi, this plugin does not communicate with O365 at all as it uses the meetingapp
https://github.com/OfficeDev/msteams-app-lms-meetings#frequently-asked-questions as intermediate software (please refer to the plugin description). The feature that you request, must bei implemented in the meetingapp, not in the Moodle plugin.

    Dear Sergio,

Yes, the plugin is still working. We have added the newer Moodle versions in the compatibility list.

    Regards.
