hitherto, the moodle plugin was making a connection to our server on a non standard port. This was causing trouble to some of our customers due to their very restrictive firewall settings.

We have now changed the connections to happen on port 80, so those should be resolved.

Please report your problems, we are very eager to resolve them.

    Hi All,

A new version has been added, with following major improvements:

-- Better handling of browser-plugin: The plugin now automatically detects the presence of installed plugin and if required directs to the plugin page. This will avoid the problem where the 'join'ing action resulted in the save a file instead on launching the conferencing application.

-- Better handling of firewall restrictions: Many users faced the problem that a blank and unresponsive page was getting displayed on starting a new activity. This was caused due to the firewall on moodle hosting server not allowing connection to our conferencing server on dynamic ports. We have now routed all the connections from port 80, so this problem will be avoided.

Now the experience and usage should cover most of the moodle installations.

    Thanks,
    gautam

    Hi,
I cannot find the recording and personal notes taking options presented on the DinSys website. It the Moodle plugin limited at these levels?
    Thanks

The Recording from the tool is supported via the top left menu [Options] --> [Start Desktop Capture].

You will be prompted with file path and audio device options. Pressing OK will start the recording. The application will capture your session along with audio as a video file in the aforementioned folder.

To stop recording you need to again use the above menu option.

The capability of server side recording (recording of session is recorded at server) is present in the system but it is not available in moodle plugin.

Server side recording exists in the organization-version of our system (showcased at http://www.dinsys.com/connect). However, for now that is also limited to merged recording of all participants audio only.

Elaborate note taking is not available. The application supports saving of text chat for which is prompts when you close the application after the meeting session.

Let us know if further clarification is required.

    Thanks,
    gautam
