This module allows students or teachers to start two-way dialogues with another person. Although the official line is that this functionality has been replaced by the Messaging system, some users still find it useful as it will be an actual activity in your course.

    Hi Troy,
I know you are busy, but while resetting courses today for next month, I just noticed that deleting a conversation seems to cause the conversation to disappear from the view conversations tab, but then gets counted as Unread. I'm using the latest Dialogue and see this in both Moodle 2.6 and 2.7.

    Hi Troy,
Have you got any plans to update the Dialogue module to be compatible with Moodle 2.8? Many thanks, Christoph

Hi Troy, there doesn't appear to paging support in the people picker. I have created an issue in the tracker: https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/CONTRIB-5489

Thank you, this is awesome plugin! But I can't see Legacy option in Settings. It's Moodle 2.8.1 stable. And, can I set the Dialogue so that students cannot write messages student-student, but only student-teacher and teacher-student?

I would like to request a feature that should be fairly simple to implement. I want to have the option to add a new participant to an existing conversation, and I want the option to leave an existing conversation. If I leave a conversation, I want all my messages to remain visible in the conversation. I've discovered that the code already supports these features if I manually add, update, or remove a row in the dialogue_participants database table.
