We've recently added this plugin to our Moodle installation and have synced successfully with our O365 environment. We're running into a problem whenever we try to sync new courses with Teams. We've had about 2 courses work successfully and the rest have failed. When I go to Teams Sync->Customize group and turn on syncing for a new course, nothing happens. If I go into the course page and click the Course Group link in the Microsoft block, I see this message: "This Office 365 group will be created shortly, please try again later." It never actually gets created, though, even though the cron task is running every few minutes. If I use the "Resync users for groups in courses" option under Maintenance Tools, I'll see an error message like this for the course:

Syncing group membership for course #529
    Syncing to group "{"
Could not sync course 529. Reason: Error in API call: Invalid object identifier '{'.

We're using Moodle 3.5 and version 2018051700 of the O365 plugin.

Is this a known problem? The sync has worked in two courses, but we have not figured out why it's not working in all the others. I did confirm that all the users in the problematic courses had connected their Moodle accounts to O365 before attempting the sync.

We would love to have this working consistently as a number of our instructors are asking for it in their classes. Thanks for any help!

    Hi all,
Looking to set up the moodle tab within teams.
While reading the documentation, there's note of creating an azure app for this purpose.
Am i right in assuming this is a separate app to what would be used for the OpenID connect section on the "Setup" tab? The one where we assign to users to allow them to authenticate with Moodle?

That's correct, please check more details in this page (videos 1 and 5).
First application is for SSO via auth_oidc and second application is required to complete the deployment to Azure.

Moodle 3.9 version of plugins should be released by the end of this week.

As per the specification, this plugin is compatible on Moodle 3.5
Can I install the same on Moodle 3.8 ?
Will there be any issue in authentication ?
I want this to be clarified before getting an account in Microsoft Azure.
Also, If anyone has any idea of the pricing for this Authentication, please let me know.

    Thanks in Advance

I have installed Moodle 3.9.1+ and integration as suggested - all working fine, courses going to Teams - but when I download the Teams app, upload to Teams, and I add it to a Team - I get Something went wrong. How do I troubleshoot this issue?

Good afternoon, Currently running Moodle 3.7+ and have installed O365 Integration version I am unable to sync any users with AzureAD. I have tried using the powershell script and manual set up follwing the documentation. My Azure portal looks a little different to what the documentaion suggests, but I seem to be abale to aprove all the permissions. However in Moodle setup -> User Sync I don't appear to have an option to manually run the Sync. So I have been changing the Scheduled task time and leaving it to run. However once the time scheduled passes it shows that the Sync has never been atempted. Any help or advice would be appriciated as I now have no hair and lost 2 days trying to make Teams and Moodle play nicely together. Cheers Gareth

    Nice job.
    There are problems with "Teams".
Moodle's integration with teams works in the web version and in the teams mobile app. But in the desktop version it doesn't work.
The desktop teams keep trying to load the embedded moodle but it doesn't show anything.
Is any of the Teams updates happening?
I am using Moodle version 3.9.

    Hello All,
Does anyone here succeed in syncing with school data sync feature?
if yes is there any documentation for that?

We are implementing the Teams Azure bot with Moodle. But the bot is not responding, it is not working. Is there any documentation or advice that we can obtain?

    Thank you.

I'm having the same problem with SDS sync - it shows no schools.

Also in mapping, I see an AD field for "Preferred Name" but I can't find where this exists in Azure or SDS?
  • Thu, Dec 3, 2020, 7:05 AM
I'm also trying to make use of the Middle Name field, which is available in SDS, but apparently not in Azure or for mapping in Moodle?

When will you be releasing a version for Moodle 3.10?

I'm also trying to make use of the Middle Name field, which is available in SDS, but apparently not in Azure or for mapping in Moodle?

I also posted this in issues, not sure what the appropriate channel for these types of questions are so sorry if I come accross as spamming, not my intention!

We are currently using the plugin for Azure AD synchronisation on a standard Moodle setup.
Pretty soon we will be moving to a Moodle Workplace environment.
In order to make use of the extended functionality (e.g. approval workflow etc) I'm looking for a way to integrate things like role, manager etc). Based on the screenshot on this plugin page (specifically the third one from the left) it seems to be able to do that. However, I cannot fidn a way to map the fields as the destination fields as shown in the screenshot are not available to me (looking on the standard moodle setup).

Is this because the data is not yet in the AD feed? Is it because Moodle standard cannot store that info (and the screenshot is from a Moodle workplace environment?) or ......

Looking for some tips to solve this and to configure the feed

    Thanks in regards!
