Boost navigation fumbling
Since the release of Moodle 3.2, Moodle core ships with a shiny new theme called "Boost". While Boost does many things right and better than the legacy theme Clean, it also has some fixed behaviours which don't make sense for all Moodle installations. One of these behaviours is the fact that the look and feel of the nav drawer (the menu which appears when you click on the hamburger menu button) is hardcoded and can hardly be configured by administrators.

This theme has reached end of life.
This plugin will not be upgraded for Moodle 4.x. Please consider using our Moodle 4 theme theme_boost_union which supports several aspects of this plugin's feature set.

laut https://moodle.org/plugins/stats.php?plugin=local_boostnavigation betreiben viele Moodle Instanzen das Plugin unter 3.3 und 3.4. Uns sind auch keine Probleme mit diesen Versionen bekannt. Die offiziellen Tests des Plugins für 3.3 und 3.4 durch uns erfolgen aber erst in Kürze.

Das Plugin ist Spitze! Wir steigen demnächst auf das BOOST-Theme um und die NavBar hat uns Kopfzerbrechen bereitet.

Does this plugin allow teachers of individual courses to add their own items to the nav drawer? For example, our 8th Grade Global Studies course has several links that are often used, that would be convenient to have in the nav drawer. In the past, I made a clone of the Fordson theme for our Global Studies classes (FordsonGS) and had our district administrators put in the links to Fordson's nav drawer customization. Fordson's new version has removed that ability and the author recommended your plugin. As a teacher (not admin or programmer), it would be great to be able to add our own course-specific items to the nav drawer, if it is not an option currently.

despite the fact that you should have asked this question on Github and not here (see the "No support in the comments section on this page" section above), I will quickly answer it:
No, this plugin currently does not offer any possibility for teachers to add their own navigation nodes to the Boost nav drawer. Its an admin tool to remove unneeded navigation nodes, to collapse navigation nodes and to create additional site-wide nodes.
It wouldn't be a technical problem to provide a UI for teachers to create per-course navigation nodes within this plugin. But I am afraid that we don't have resources for this implementation and I am also afraid that a feature like this will quickly be misused by teachers is a way that the uniformity of navigation across courses will be harmed.
