Support:

The format comes with NO support.  Please see the 'Support' section in 'Readme.md' file that comes with the format.  This is because the format is complex and I regret that I don't have the time / resources to freely assist with questions pertaining to specific enhancements / changes / knowledge improvement.

I will investigate genuine bugs and issue fixes in a timescale set by myself.  When reporting issues you MUST clearly state the full version and release of both Moodle and the Grid format format as contained within their 'version.php' files - if not it takes me longer to figure out, often resulting in me asking for the details anyway and slowing the process of solving your problem down.  It really helps to upload and describe in detail the issue you are having on the 'Course formats' forum.

More to follow as new icons have been added....

Privacy API support starts with V3.3.0.5 for M3.3 and V3.4.0.4 for M3.4 where the API has been implemented in the minor release of Moodle.

    Hi Tom,

Ok, to reiterate, these are two completely different concepts and as such I am not in a position to crow bar such a conflicting concept into the format - in fact it would be extremely difficult and indeed 'broken pencil territory' as it would confuse users beyond belief.

The format deals with sections, the each grid image is linked to a section. It would be confusing if some images linked to a section and others to a different URL. The format knows the number of images to use because of the number of sections. The images are stored in the section area of the course backup file. Need I go on?

    Kind regards,

    Gareth

    Hi Gareth,

    Thank you for your response.

No that makes complete and perfect sense, thank you for explaining that to me.

    Best wishes,

    Tom Parker

My employers are interested in using this format for their site, but they want the grid squares to appear as interlocking puzzle pieces; is that possible?

    Hi Alex,

Possibly. I could look into this on a paid consultancy basis for you if you sent me a quick mock up of what exactly you want.

    Kind regards,

    Gareth

I have another question: Is it possible to have the Grid squares stay in a specific formation (in this case, 3 by 3) and resize accordingly?

Hi. How do you get red of the dashed lines in between each activity? Also, I wasn't sure about some other settings, is there a Moodle Doc dedicated to the Grid format?
    Thanks,

    Hi John,

    a) Alter the styles of the '#gridshadebox_content .activity' CSS sector.
    b) No.

    Cheers,

    Gareth

    Gareth -- worked great. Thanks.
So we had 1 course using Grid Format this year, and many students keep asking if we can have more courses that 'look that way' -- so thanks for your hard work, you are making kids happy with the ease of navigation and nice organization of content : )

A strange situation started happening a month or so ago. We have been using the Grid Format for several years and love it. About a month or so ago, the links for the various "units" stopped opening the specific "unit" page. Instead, it is scrolling down to the "unit" items displayed below the grid. This only happens in edit mode. In regular mode, it works fine. I noticed that there is a difference in URL formats. Instead of "https://moodle.flaschools.org/course/view.php?id=177&section=3", the URL get's changed in edit mode to "https://moodle.flaschools.org/course/view.php?id=177#section-3". Notice that the "&" becomes a "#" and the "=" becomes a "-". I am not the site administrator. I know we just updated to the newest release of Moodle over the weekend and the problem persists. I don't know what version number of the grid format we currently have.

Any ideas what could be affecting this?

    Thanks!

    Hi Brian,

Somebody has changed the value of this: https://docs.moodle.org/30/en/Course_formats#.22Show_only_one_section.22 setting.

Hi Gareth, I've been testing your grid format so far in Moodle 3.0.3 and it looks very nice. However, I found a glitch (I wouldn't call it a bug). It is not rendering ok while using the Roshnilite template, as the lightbox doesn't completely hide the Show block and Dock block on the course page.

    Hi Brandon,

Pragmatically I can only support core and my themes. If there are issues with other themes then that's something I'll only look at for a fee.

    Kind regards,

    Gareth

    Hi Gareth & all,

I am just 5 months old moodle explorer.

Its truly amazing format. Thanks smile
Need help to resolve a small issue. If i leave the section without pausing the video, audio continues in the background.

Will be great if video stop on leaving the section.
