The Flexible course format is builds and improves upon the popular Grid format adding:

  • Better responsiveness on mobile devices
  • Modal popup for section summaries
  • Auto generation of SVG images where no image has been added to a section
  • Ability to show completion per section
  • Ability to show images within individual course sections
  • Ability to make certain sections pop out of the grid in a collapsible manner

This course format is designed to work only as one section per page which is arguably more accessible, mobile friendly and allows teachers to provide direct links to sections in response to queries.

Do you need a separate plugin for the Discussion Tab to appear? Are they integrated?

Hi Chris, the tabs are a feature within the Adaptable theme, they just render a block region into which we drop the discussion feed. Discussion feed is a separate block plugin we released here on Moodle.Org. So, you would need to add block regions as tabs or similar to Fordson. I think you know that is actually very straight forward in a theme.

Does this work on any theme or just a specific one? :D

Images seem to be resized and cropped (extra margin applied).
No progress bar, info - different to example video, see https://ibb.co/v46Q4Z4.
Different overall tile style (e.g. border, text cropping, text positioning).

Hi Tim, all the things you mention are options / settings within the plugin. That includes display of the progress bar which needs to be enabled. The progress bar also depends on you having completion tracking enabled in your course. It does all work, I think you just need to spend some time understanding the settings.

Great format but are you planning to upgrade it to 3.9?

This is a great format and works really well with our Moodle 3.9.3.

    Keep up the great work.

This format is good to go on Moodle 3.9 and 3.10. I am currently using it on Moodle 4 Alpha and it seems to be stable.

Hello, sorry I am new to Moodle and I wanted to install the plugin. Everything went great but I don't have the same design as you have shown in the video: mine is super basic (just blocks but no design at all)
Is it because you are using a different theme?

This is a great plugin. Its popularity in our school is going up each month. Do you know when the plugin will be upgrade to 3.10 ?
    Thanks
